Ballalaika Music X Sunrise in Glory
The goal: tetraploid 3/4-breds with near-aril-like flowers on highly gardenable plants. The pod parent, Ballalaika Music, is an exceptionally easy-to-grow aril of known species ancestry, from Werckmeister's Beauty : (Bronze Beauty x (Teucros x I. susiana) X Dunshanbe: (Persian Pansy x I. korolkowii Brown & Green). It charts back to species in only four generations. Its sixteen great-great-grandparents are: four I. hoogiana, five I. korolkowii, two I. stolonifera, two I. nigricans, two I. susiana, and one I. iberica. Sunrise in Glory is a halfbred with good size and substance and the ability to produce a wide variety of intricate patterns.
