Cruising into the Apocalypse

When we send a rocket to space, 90% of the fuel is used in lift off.
Once the rocket reaches its new pattern, fuel usage is diminished. It's
the same thing for you and me. If we're going to move into a new realm of
living, we exert a majority of our energy in the lift off. It takes
energy to commit to greater living. And once we begin to move in that
direction, then we truly begin to soar.

Dear Judy: 

I was thinking of writing an answer on the billboard at Spiritwalk, 

using your question. I would like to tell you that to me namastè is a salute 

to the divinity of all and the Atman which exists within you and me. 

Here's what Ram Dass (where I initially learned this) has to say. 

Namastè is a salutation which essentially means that I greet and acknowledge the 
God-Spirit that resides within you. Ram Dass describes it this way [Namaste` means] 
"I honor the place in you in which the entire universe dwells. I honor the place in you 
which is of love, of truth, of light, and of peace. When you are in that place in you, and 
I am in that place in me, we are one." This greeting is usually done with a gesture of 
hands held close to the heart in prayer position. It is a recognition of the Atman within, 
the acknowledgement of our connection in Spirit and a wonderful way of expressing 
love and respect for our fellows. 

I would like to take more time with this and write an essay as it is permissible, 

as this is a central piece of my personal spiritual program. 

Hopefully. someone will read this and add something here

experience the presence of a loved one who has died
and briefly returned from the afterlife. This can
occur while we are awake or while dreaming. The book
is being published by Harper / San Francisco.

There will be a selection of short first-person
accounts of this wonderful, healing experience. I

Dear Brothers and Sisters, my human family:-))

Mankind is once again at a crossroads. We must either resolve to be "our
brothers keeper" or we will all go down as a failed experiment. We can no
longer claim ignorance of what is happening to our brothers and sisters
around the globe. WE KNOW! We see every day the injustice, the sufferring,
the starvation: the mistreatment of our own kind by others of our own kind.
We poison ourselves if we do nothing about what we know. We cannot pretend
any longer. We must stop our denial mechanisms that allow us to feel
comfortable and secure while others suffer. We know: we must act. We must
change. Each of us and all of us.

We cannot continue to act in the way we have in the past; meeting violence
with violence. We have enough historical perspective to realize that that
strategy has only bred more violence. As Gandhi said: " An eye for an eye
leaves the whole world blind". We are acting like the blind led by the
blind. Yet, there is a light of wisdom within each of us that knows we must
find a better way. We have no choice about it any more if we are to survive
and if our planet and all the beings on it are to thrive. The boat has
gotten over-crowded and threatens to go down. We must change what we have
always done and try something better. We must do it now!

Christ gave us the answer when he said "Blessed are the Peacemakers". Like
all great Spiritual Masters everywhere, He taught us to love those who
wrongfully use us. To return love for hatred and to do so by forgiving. It
is not easy; but it is necessary! We really have no other choice than to do
what in our hearts we know is right. Each of us must make this choice in
our own lives. It will not happen on a global level until it happens in
enough of us as individuals. Only then will the tide turn. May peace be in
our hearts and in our world.

I have posted this private communication without permission and so I have concealed

the identity of the sender for privacy reasons. I thought what she had to say was

notable and decided to put it here. She was responding to a note about a Kosovo

prayer session. If you have responses send them on to me and I will post them here

and forward to this writer. 

Roger,
I was away and missed the message. However, I have, at this very moment,
taken 2 minutes to "be" with those who are affected by this war.

I will share with you another type of war that affects humans in a very
insidious way. Where I live there has been a decision made to spray for the
death of the gypsy moth who is attacking certain trees and damaging them. A
medical and government decision was made that the chemical BtK be used to
do the job. The information about this chemical is either not known or not
being made available,  yet it is being applied overhead by low-flying
aricraft over a number of weeks. Will this process cause a slow death for
our residents through respiratory illness, skin cancer, damaged food
products, etc. It seems like a war against Nature, the very gift given us
to live on the planet.

When humanity decides to put their personal ego and their selfishness away
and exchange that thinking for "the Mind of Christ", then will ALL be the
only reality that exists. We need to realize that everything, all
creatures, plant materials, inanimate objects, etc are inextricably bound
by the same life source. May we teach our children well in the ways of the
spirit so that TRUTH, BEAUTY AND GOODNESS will prevail.

My mother is a Carpathian German, who fled Slovakia, the country in
which her family lived since 1209 in the manner of the Kosovars in 1945. My
father's side left the Danzig area earlier, but it still remained our
spiritual home, until the local Germans, including several of his
relatives, were murdered and deported in the same manner. What happened
to many of the Albanians of Kosovo reminds me of that. So does the
suffering of the Bosniaks (the Muslims from Bosnia), of so many
Croats--but ALSO of many Serbs who were "vertrieben" from the Krajina.
We must recognize individuals, not use ethnic labels.
Since I saw a letter arguing in the manner of Edward Benesch (the Czech
Milosevic) that Sudeten Germans were all traitors (just as Milosevic
argues about the Albanians), I also submit my Carpathian German Homepage
for the perusal of those who are interested in the complicated history
of Czecho-Slovakia between the wars.
