H MK II'S HAD A CAPACITY OF 5,500 POUNDS AT 65 MPH IN 55 FEET.

MARK 4; DESIGN CAPACITY 10,000 POUNDS AT 70 MPH. MOD 2 ENGINES (8,500 POUNDS AT 60 MPH) ALLOWED FOR A LONGER RUNOUT FOR THE AFTER SECTION OF THE LANDING AREA. A BARRIER WAS DIRECTLY CONNECTED TO MARK 4 MOD 2 ARRESTING-GEAR ENGINES FOR MORE EFFICIENT ENERGY ABSORBTION.
