A dear friend of
ours could not be at the ceremony with us. He was the friend of
both the bride and groom before they even knew each other. Both
knew from the beginning that if this friend had ANY reservations
about their relationship.....they would simply walk away. LUCKILY,
he was thrilled! This friend, Vasant, was originally from India.
As elephants are important in India, this symbolized his blessing
to the bride and groom. The bride had a small elephant at home.
While packing, the groom could not find the elephant. As even
the cake was a surprise, he had to locate one in Lake Tahoe the
morning of the wedding. Traffic was terrible, and the groom feared
he would not get back for the ceremony. But the Guardian Angels
interceded again! Their were also 5 little trees on the cake....one
tree for each of our children.
Our wedding rings
also symbolize our 5 children. Rick has 3.....two boys and a girl..
Donna has 2....a boy and a girl. The wedding bands have 5 distinct
rings within the band....2 yellow gold, one on each end. There
are 3 white gold rings between the two gold......no longer were
there 3 and 2.....now there are 5.
