FAMILY NEWS
Dear Friends and Family
Our last few months in Thailand have been full of encouraging events, both in our family and in our work. It's hard to believe we have lived in Thailand for almost 10 years!
Our biggest news is the addition of the newest member of our family! Jonathan Daniel Walter was born on February 7th. His arrival took us by surprise as he was month early, but he was strong and healthy even though he was a bit small. (5 pounds, 14 ounces). He is almost 2 months old now and we have enjoyed him so much. He has been an easy baby to care for and we can't imagine what we'd do without him now that we have him. Things have been rather hectic since his early arrival caught us off guard and we are still catching up.
Joshua had his 4th birthday in January. He has inherited his Daddy's sense of humor and keeps us laughing all the time. His big interest at this time is swords, shields, and armor. He spends his days "pretending" and his favorite characters to portray are David, Gideon, and Reepicheep the mouse from the Chronicles of Narnia. His first question each morning is "Mom, can I pet my little brother now?" and he voluntarily surrenders his sword a few times each day to "snuggle with baby Jon". He is attending preschool 4 mornings a week that is being taught by the Moms on our team and our intern, Rachel Greer.
Ashlee is 7 1/2 now and we enjoy her tremendously. She has been very excited about learning to read this past year and it's been fun to see her develop that skill. She has been enthralled with her baby brother and spends hours every day playing with him (as much as you can play with a 2 month old), reading to him, and holding him. She is Mom's biggest help and always gives me an extra hand when I need one.
Tim , as usual, keeps busy pastoring the church. He continues to spend many hours a day in prayer, counseling, evangelism, and lesson preparation both for his Sunday sermons and discipling the new Christians; as well as the more mature Christians who are going through the leadership training program he is implementing. He does a great job of keeping home and work balanced.
Sherry has her hands full with managing our home, keeping up with the kids, helping out at their school, and working with different Thai friends as time allows. She has been really thankful for Rachel Greer, a friend and college student , who has come to live and work with us for 5 months. Rachel has taken over Sherry's teaching position at the preschool (since Jonathan's birth) as well as helping out in many other ways. We don't know what we'd have done without Rachel these last few months.
Blessings to all of you,
Tim, Sherry, Ashlee, Joshua, Num, and Joy
