Germany/Bulgaria Trip Diary
"Singing in the Rain..."
Day 2
When I woke up
the sun was shining and it seemed perfect for the gig which was set in a
beautiful market square. But, by 2pm big chunks of hail were pounding down
and the sky looked very threatening. Here in the very heart of the Black
Forest this kind of weather is not unusual but it does make open air concerts a
bit risky!!
Sound check
was late so Eric went shopping for something to wear as his was the bag that was
still missing! I talked to Bernie for a while, bought some cigarettes and
had a coffee as the clouds and sun traded places! We took a little longer
for sound check today and it was the right thing to do. We felt ready and
we hit the stage at exactly 19:30.
The set list
was….
- Intro
- You've Got It
- Brown Eyed Boy
- Just The Beginning
- Circle Of Hands
- July Morning
- Blood On The Highway
- The Wizard
- We're On Our Way
- The Last Dance
- Stealin’
- Easy Living
- Lady In Black
************
- Gypsy
This show was
one of the best ever in my life! Everything was right from the very first
note and the band was so tight you could not believe that we hadn´t played
together in almost a month! I am so thankful for and to Ken, Tom Arne, Sid
and Eirikur as well Magne and Helge and I hope we will be together for a long
time… for me it is such a pleasure! It rained on and off but the crowd
stayed, sang, clapped, cheered and danced. It was a GREAT night!
Relaxed in the
dressing room after the show, we had an excellent dinner served and the beer and
the wine flowed. The boys went out to watch the other band, I stayed and
chatted some more and then took the shuttle back to the hotel to celebrate
privately.
I said my prayers of thanks, called to say goodnight to Monica and went to bed
knowing that I didn´t have to get up too early the next day.
