And The Pigeons Came Too…
Alicante To Gressvik……
via Oslo, Prague, Belgrade, Zajecar, Belgrade, Prague and Oslo!!!
This was a great adventure!!
One of the things I really love about where
Monica and I live are the birds! They bring life to the air around us,
they help control the insect population and they sing so beautifully in the
mornings, as they are waking up and in the evenings, before they go to bed/nest
or whatever. Last year, two pairs of pigeons made their home in the trees
around us and they sing too!!
I have to say that I still love travelling.
Sure, I do complain about it from time to time but, overall, I do enjoy it.
And I really like being with the guys in the band…… None of this changes
the fact that I miss Monica and the zoo a whole lot but it’s a little emotional
conflict I’ll have to live with for a while.
Right now I am sitting in row 21, seat A on a
Czech Airlines flight from Oslo to Prague (window seats have always been my
favourite, because it’s easier to sleep, but I am beginning to re-think this
strategy…..). When we get to Prague we will change to a flight that will
take us to Belgrade and from there we will travel by road to Zajecar for the
Guitar Festival tomorrow. I, of course, will be playing keyboards……
The band is scattered around the plane, most
of them trying to catch up on lost sleep, but I am sitting here, sipping a hot
brown liquid that slightly resembles coffee, looking at some solid things that
are similar in colour to ham and cheese but probably too dangerous to eat!!!
The male flight attendant looks a lot like Mr. Bean (whom I consider to be one
of the unfunniest people on earth) and the in-flight magazine has an interesting
article about Arnost Lustig. Lustig in German means handsome and Arnost
Lustig is definitely a handsome 81-year-old man. An inspiration of sorts.
