Back To Winter….
Day 10:
After I
checked out, Sid picked me up and we picked up Helge (monitor engineer and
back-line tech) and we trundled back to the rehearsal room where we ran the show
a couple of times with little breaks to fix some segues etc…
We spent more
time on background vocals too and this worked well.
All in all we
were looking forward to the Lillehammer show and I was looking forward to seeing
Glenn and Alvin Lee who is playing on the second day of the event.
The driver
picked me up at 4pm and, after stopping to pick up some stuff they needed at the
festival, we laboured through the Norwegian traffic and eventually arrived in
Lillehammer at about 7:30pm.
Norway is a
truly beautiful country but the roads are very narrow and if you get stuck
behind a truck …. You´re stuck!
But I promised
I would quit complaining in these pages and I meant it, even though I just did.
But I won´t do it again … honest!
So a quick
shower and change and off to Finn´s ¨Pop Quiz¨ where I was to play a few songs.
I like doing these solo things. It gives me a chance to demonstrate how the
songs were ¨born¨ and talk about how they were brought to life and people seem
to enjoy that.
After the show
we went back to the hotel and relaxed for a while before my accumulated fatigue
got the better of me and I called it a night.
Quite a full
day really!
