A message from Ken Hensley thanking
for the birthday greetings he received. Happy
60s Ken! "To all my friends and fans
everywhere!!
I was completely overwhelmed by all the messages you
sent for my birthday this year and I wanted to thank
you in the only way I can.
Your words are so kind and so encouraging and the only
frustrating thing is that I can´t answer each message
personally!!
So just know that I am very grateful to each and every
one of you!
I have a busy year ahead, shows in Europe, Scandinavia
and South Africa, my solo Anthology will be ready in a
week or two and I am recording a live DVD in Oslo in
December as well as writing for a CD of new songs
etc... etc... so, before you know it, I´ll be reading
your messages for my next birthday!!
Please keep in touch, it´s always good to hear from
you and I´ll try to keep the music flowing so we can
continue the journey together.
God bless,
Ken

A bit of trivia! A stamp
with Ken Hensley's Eager To Please album cover
was released in Joensuu, Finland, on
April 22nd 2005! The person behind this is
Heikki Kyllästinen. Nowadays in Finland it is
possible to get official stamps from your own photos.
Those stamps can be used only in Finland of course.
As Heikki adds: "'Eager To Please' was released in
1975 so this could be called a '30th Anniversary Stamp',
right? There are at the moment only about 200 stamps
mainly for Ken's personal use, so unfortunately it is
not possible to send them to all Ken Hensley / Uriah
Heep fans". But in any way if you have a colour
printer you can print the stamps from the following
page:
https://puoti.pmk.posti.fi/cgi-bin/ncommerce3/ExecMacro/yp2.d2w/yleis?pic=ok795745290541113995072
. Hurry as this link will be deleted one of these
days!

For all of you artists out there,
professional or not, can you come up with a cover idea
for Ken's new solo anthology, entitled Cold Autumn
Sunday?
Use your imagination, use someone elses's imagination
but see what you can come up with and if you win you
will of course be credited on the CD booklet and you
will also receive a framed copy, signed and numbered
by Ken. Maybe it matters, maybe it doesn't but the CD
will have two new songs on it too!
Please send any artworks to

Ken Hensley's words about the recent
passing of Jakson Spires, his ex-colleague and
drummer of Blackfoot: "I was
very sorry to hear about Jakson´s passing. He was a
great guy, a very good drummer and an excellent team
player. He lived hard, played hard and loved hard. A
full life crammed into too few years.

Ken Hensley played at the Heroes
of World Rock festival in St. Petersburg
last week, and it was great: 10,000 people
showed up and they roared their way through the
night. Thin Lizzy didn't make it, reportedly
through illness but Kingdom Come filled in so
the audience had a lot to see and hear. The grand
finale was when they all jammed on "Smoke On The
Water". The only sad thing was they had already
packed the Hammond so Ken played acoustic slide!! Ken
says: "Personally I enjoyed it a lot and it was good
to spend time with Ian Gillan and with Andy
Scott from Sweet. Ian and I shared a local
band called DDT who have actually been one of
the biggest bands in Russia for more than 25 years.
They did a great job and I am grateful to them. Of
course there was the usual television, radio and press
to do but the main press conference was more fun than
usual because I shared the table with Ian and with
Lenny from Kingdom Come!! Hope I get the chance to do
more shows like this....it really was fun!".
