The drive to Tula was only 112 kilometres but the roads were the worst yet!! We've had a masseuse at the shows for Fabian who is suffering a pinched nerve in his shoulder but today I think we're all going to need it!! Still the bumps and pot holes do help me type some interesting words… you should have seen this before I corrected most of the mistakes!!

As I write this we are approaching Tula so there will be more later!

Once again we ran into local promoter problems only this time it was the hotel. There were no poster problems… there were no posters!! Suspicious that!! Anyway the hotel wasn't fit for my dogs but there was no option so we spent as little time as possible there.

I know that these promoters and agents etc. are still relatively new to all of this and I am happy to be a bit of a guinea-pig but they just don't seem able to tell the truth about anything or to respond to a challenge. I have made good use of this experience though and now have a team in place that will manage the Moscow show and all future tours. Our riders are all being translated into Russian so we will eliminate a lot of the problems (and the associated stress) and at least reduce them to a manageable level.

I know that most of you won't get the opportunity to go to this part of the world (and even less of you to perform!) but I would encourage you to go if you get the chance. It IS different and it can be difficult but it is worth the time and trouble. It will certainly make you think and it will help you to appreciate the world in which you live.

Sound check was relatively trouble-free and the big theatre was about 90% sold out so we enjoyed the show a lot and, judging by the reaction, so did the fans. A lot of them came to the post-show autograph session and we went to dinner feeling good.

It was very, very late when we got to the flea-pit hotel and we slept for a few hours before resolving to leave as early as possible for Moscow and our last show!!

Next day...
