E-Heep

June 19th 2004

Started the day with a breakfast of "mystery meat", eggs and coffe and then we had a business meeting which was very productive but mainly reminded me of why I love music so much!!!

Today I wanted to finish all the basic instrumental tracks so we could focus on getting decent reference vocals tomorrow and we got that done. After finishing the basic guitar tracks I had time to add the new solos to Circle of Hands and now things are really starting to come to life.

We did have a bit of a setback today though, well, two actually. The two musical setbacks were that the rhythm section had recorded Sweet Freedom with a part of the third verse missing which means we'll have to re-record the track on Tuesday and they had recorded Weep in Silence in D minor, the key that David sang it in, instead of B minor, the key it was written in for my voice!! Only needs the bass track re-cut but it made for some interesting listening as I tried to add the B3!! The technical hitch (that makes three setbacks doesn't it??!!) was that the studio only has 8 Pro Tools outputs which makes monitoring a problem. But we'll work around that one too.

We finished at 8 tonight just in time to watch qualifying for the US Grand Prix, then back to the hotel, a little more football and bed. I like this routine though I am sure some would find it quite boring…

Next day...
