And today was exactly the reverse…
at least to begin with. Maybe it was because I didn't sleep well
last night or maybe it was because some things that were supposed
to happen didn't and there was a lot of confusion over exactly when
the orchestra was coming etc. etc. but it was hard to get any momentum
going. Once we did though it was cool and now we are making good
progress on all the songs except "Illusion" which we have
to record from scratch.
Vadim was here to finish his parts on "Weep in Silence"
and we added percussion to "Free Me" (after raiding the
music shop for cowbells and tambourines etc.) and used the Alesis
Andromeda on a lot of tracks before working on the solo guitar parts
for "Weep". So now it's time for some serious vocal work
tomorrow morning as well as some other odds and sods so we can be
prepared for the orchestra sessions. We have to take a day off this
weekend to shoot the video so we need to be really organised between
now and then… plus I want to get home to Monica and "the
kids"!
Now we are settling down to our post-session ritual of sandwiches
and wine and then I am off to bed. I need to be rested for a day
like tomorrow!!
