I am really sorry but things have been really crazy
since I got back from the Russian tour but we are making great progress
in the studio once again!! I had some lead vocals to do again but
the sound of my voice had changed so much (for the better according
to Danny) after the tour that we decided to do them all again!!
We have the time and it's really paying off. It's amazing what a
difference it makes when you sing new songs live and then go into
the studio and, because I am still really "learning" how
to sing, the difference is even more striking to me. It seems to
me (and I am sure many established singers already know this) that
singing songs live over a reasonably long period of time allows
you to get to "know" the songs better and thus bring more
life out of them. Anyway I am enjoying discovering not just the
possibilities within the songs but exploring my own limits too and,
to that extent, Danny has been a great encouragement.
I enjoyed seeing Rodrigo last week. He visited for a grand total
of 36 hours but it was time we both really enjoyed!!
Needless to say the CD is taking longer than expected but there
are many reasons for that and to be honest I don't feel the need
to rush it as it may well end up being the recording of my life
and I don't want to risk spoiling it at this point. We should finish
all the vocals in three or four more days and then we have to do
some backing vocals, loops, synth parts, etc.... before we start
mixing. Right now I am getting ready to do another vocal so I had
better go for now..... but I'll be back!
