November 23rd 2005

I feel a bit better this morning. Petter will be here at 10:30 to pick me up and it’s only a short drive to Fredrikstad so I’ll have a chance to rest some more before sound check for my solo show this evening. Whether I will be able to sing or not remains to be seen but I am not worried about it because that won’t help anything will it??!!

So, back to the City Hotel, a cup of tea and a nap!

This afternoon I did a bit of shopping for Monica and the dogs. They (the dogs that is) like toys from other countries and of course they don’t know that they are the same as Spanish ones but they expect something when we come home so it’s nice to give them a treat!

We spent 30 minutes or so checking the piano etc., and then went to Jimmy’s house for dinner. Torell had prepared a vegetarian meal which was delicious and I drank some warm red wine with lots of sugar to try and help my throat… it didn’t!

Back to the hotel, a quick siesta and then back to Balaklava for the “show”. The little venue was full and I entered not really knowing if I’d be able to sing or not!! But I had said my prayers so I wasn’t worried…

I started with the original acoustic guitar version of July Morning and I was surprised to find that about 80% of my voice was there and that was nice. God is good!

The audience was gracious and very enthusiastic so this little 90-minute gathering went very well. After signing some stuff and posing for photos I hurried back to the hotel because we have an early start tomorrow.

Rest does seem to be the answer and I will focus on that for the rest (sorry!) of this trip.

Next day...
