DAY 19

Show Day! But first a chance to look around town and do some more interviews. I love how knowledgeable the people have been about the music and the history of myself and Heep. It makes the interviews much more interesting for me and, hopefully, for the people that read them or listen to them or watch them!

Changed strings on two guitars and had a longer than usual sound check so we could get a bit more "tuned-up" after not playing for three days. The venue is a nice theatre with a capacity of about 600 and it sound like we are going to have a good crowd… we are all quite excited actually!

After sound check, KT took us to a local restaurant where we ate something called… I can't remember the name in Norwegian… but it was like Irish Stew and it was delicious but by now we were all focussed on the show and it was time to get ready.

Back to the hotel for a quick shower and then back to the theatre where we signed lots of stuff for all the show sponsors and took pictures with them. Then we had our quiet 10 minutes in the dressing room which is time for us to encourage each other and go over last minute things!! I love these guys and consider myself extremely lucky/blessed to have such a great team to work with!!

Well… the show was great (again!) and the crowd was too! Great singing and just… so much enthusiasm! At one point one guy who had enjoyed a little too much local beer actually made it on to the stage to tell me how much he loved me (??) but there was no trouble… he just jumped back into the crowd and carried on celebrating there! So far we don't feel any need for security… the vibe is just too good! Everyone played well tonight and Dave was especially on-form. Sometimes his playing just amazes me as I am sure it does the audience!

Remember I said I changed strings on TWO guitars? Well, of course I broke one on the third guitar… right in the middle of "The Wizard"… and it was the A string so I spent the whole song wondering how I was going to play the melody at the end!!! Couldn't play it all so I played part of it and sang the rest and I don't think anybody really minded!! Tomorrow I will change all of them so I am covered for the rest of the tour!

After the show we did the usual "meet & greet" and pictures and signing for over an hour before the guy who owns the local pub invited us there and opened it for us!! We have a late start tomorrow so we all went and 5-15 showed up along with our crew and a good time was had by all. Off to bed to rest for tomorrow. I never what that will bring but I am always excited by it!! God bless.

Next day...
