DAY 20

After lunch and coffe with Morten and Jill (and after taking some silly pictures to accompany this diary!) we set off for Oslo. It's only 198 kms from Skien to Oslo but it took us three hours because now we have the trailer on the people carrier and the roads are very mountainous and narrow. But we had plenty of time to stop for a "mystery" sausage and coffee.

Yatta called from the club and told us to take a taxi and follow it to the venue because he had no idea how to direct us… The Rock In is right in the centre of town. And you can't park there either!

On the way to Oslo I had to wonder at how beautiful Norway is. Lots of mountains and lakes and because it was a bright sunny day it looked even more spectacular. Of course, as I was driving, the guys encouraged me not to spend too much time sight-seeing!!!!

The club was quite tiny and the stage was about the size of a stamp so the crew had quite a challenge but they pulled it off and we settled down for sound check which went fairly smoothly. We are so lucky to have such a good crew and I want to mention Yatta, John and Ade specially and to thank them for their great teamwork.

This was the first of two shows at this club and everyone was quite relaxed and looking forward to the show. Again we had such a great crowd and Martin showed up in the middle of the set which lifted us a little bit more.

After lots of signing and hand-shaking (with my left hand of course!) we set out to try and find some food. The best we could do was Burger King and I should know better than to eat that stuff at 1:30 in the morning! Oh well… a lesson learned.

Next day...
