DAY 4

Ah… the luxury of a late check out and time to have a real breakfast!! The sun is still shining and I think this is some kind of record for England… or should I say the United Kingdom of which Wales is a part! There is a strong nationalist movement here in Wales which has managed to ersuade local government to print all the signs in English and Welsh. I don't know how many people actually understand Welsh but I know we don't!! Anyway, after catching a teasing glance at qualifying for the San Marino Grand Prix we set off for Brierly Hill which was an easy drive of about 3 and ½ hours. After making one quick stop to fill the car etc… we arrived in time for sound check at 5:30 and began to set up for the show which was to be recorded.

The Robin Hood is a pub with a nice sized venue behind it and it has 24 tracks of ADAT so we were able to do some test recording in the afternoon in preparation. They gave us a nice dinner and we were ready!!

We had a good, loud crowd and it was one of those shows that was just… "special"! I haven't heard the recordings yet but I think it will be cool and I'll let you know when I have had a chance to check it out.

After the show there were lots of people to meet (some for the umpteenth time!!) and there was a very good and positive feeling with lots of useful and encouraging comments about the shows. Do remember that it's your opinions we care about most so we take (most) of these comments very seriously. Thanks a million for the compliments and the words of encouragement… to a new band that goes a long, long way!!!

And then the drive back to base which was not too long fortunately. Even so I got home at 5am and am looking forward to a couple of days off before Southampton which will be the next time I write to you all.

Take care and I'll get back to you on Wednesday or Thursday. God bless.

Next day...
