DAY 6

I lied… I am back already because the London show was so great in every way that I had to tell you about it in case you weren't there! (which, of course, most of you were not!!)

The Mean Fiddler (London Astoria 2) is right in the heart of London and so we all arrived by train and underground/taxi so we didn't have the nightmare of parking. Except Yatta of course… the gear had to be loaded in (downstairs) and so Moon came along to help with the vehicle. (thanks Moon!)

We had a relaxed sound check and the crew at the venue is so professional that we were very well prepared for the show. After that we went to the pub to meet Jens (our European agent) and his wife Nadja, Martin and Marion, Don McKay (boss of Mystic and our UK agent) and there, surprise, surprise, was Bernie Reichert making one of his now famous surprise cameo appearances!!! This of course made the whole feeling of the night better and we were in good spirits.

This was to be only our 16th show and that is hard to believe. The band keeps getting better and better and it certainly feels like a band that has been around a lot longer than 16 shows. I'd have to say that we are very, very blessed and I am constantly giving thanks for all of this! Our pre-show routine is very simple (as are all things with this band/organisation) and we always take about 10 private minutes before the show to just chat between ourselves and encourage one another. I always take time to pray because that is important to me and I am always amazed at the answers these prayers receive!!

Anyway, we made it to the stage on time and played better I think than we have played before! The crowd was great and the enthusiasm in the room was so high you could feel it. Yes there were some familiar faces and we are always grateful for that. Your support is what keep us going! Unfortunately we didn't have much time after the show because they always clear the building as fast as they can for their late night shows but we did shake some hands and then had a little while to meet a lot of our fans around the corner at the pub before we had to rush to the station to catch the train home!!

Highlights of this evening were the way the band played (even Dave was happy with his playing!!!), the great and very positive reaction to the new arrangements of "Lady in Black" and "Stealin'" and a beautiful piece of art that was given to me before the show. To Lucy (who, I think, came all the way from Israel) I can only say a humble "thank you". The illustration depicts some of the words from my favourite song "The Return" and it will hang on the wall in a very special place!!!

Well, today we're off to Rotherham for the last show of this leg of UK dates (we have more in June) and, as this is a kind of festival show, we are expecting it to be different and interesting!! I'll give you a full report tomorrow when I wrap up this whole trip!!

Take care and God bless…

Next day...
