DAY 5

The first thing I had to do today was to meet and talk to all of the staff at Sony Music Russia. This was really interesting and they showed me some videos of some of their Russian artists. Great videos actually, but I couldn't understand the words at all obviously!! We also discussed the differences between the Russian music industry and the "western" version. Of course the industry here is quite new and the market itself is not taken that seriously by its western counterparts but it's growing and will one day be a major force. In a country with a population of 150 million there is a lot of potential but it will take time of course.

They asked me if I would write English lyrics for one of their artists and I am going to give it a try… always ready for a new challenge!!

After a lunch of Borsch and Stroganoff (YUM!) I met with the concert promoters again and it now looks as though we will come here at the end of April to do shows in Moscow and St. Petersburg. The first week of May won't work as it is a holiday week so the concert business is very slow so we will come here right after the UK dates are finished.

Next was a grand opening of a "Mega-Store" at which I played a few songs and signed lots of things… CDs, etc… and then we rushed off to a rock club where I made a "surprise" guest appearance. This was great and I really got a taste of what is (hopefully) to come startin' Friday in Finland!!

I was really happy to see my bed though I can hardly believe my visit is almost over!!
