FRIDAY 13TH
My laptop has been down for a few days
because I lost (absent-mindedly left behind would be more accurate…
ed) my power adapter in Madrid while I was there "wrestling"
for my newest Russian visa!! Good thing my head is permanently connected…
although I wonder about that sometimes too!
So I am writing some of this from memory and I am already in Togliatti…..
where e-mail etc. is somewhat difficult… so I don't know exactly
when you'll read it either!
Flash back now to a different place and time…. a flood relief
benefit concert in Torgau in what used to be East Germany on Friday
the 13th!! (I knew they shouldn't have done it!!)
Actually I won't go into details but I do hope they managed to raise
some money for this cause… we certainly did our part and I
am personally proud of the band and crew for volunteering their
time to do it… even though Yatta got stuck in Oslo (thanks
SAS!) and arrived too late to be at the debacle… I mean festival!!
We were supposed to go on at 9pm and eventually got to the stage
at 10 minutes past midnight and I am only telling you this because
it meant we got no sleep as our flight to St. Petersburg left early
the next morning and we had a three hour drive to the airport! On
the way there the tyres (yes… both of them!) blew out on the
luggage trailer so we had to abandon it at the side of the road
and "wear" our suitcases for the rest of the journey!!
