SATURDAY 14TH
Anyway
we made it and climbed
aboard Pulkovo Aviation (I am not making any of this up!) for the
shortish flight to St. Petersburg. I was thanking God that this
was not a show day!!
Once we got to St. Petersburg things fell into place although I
did have to rush to a press conference which was actually delightful.
It was held at a bar called "Liverpool" and they served
us a nice dinner and made me stick my hand in a frame full of cement
(luckily they had a frame big enough!)
Here I was presented with what might be the most unusual gift I
have ever received (as far as I can remember that is!): a 6 kilogram
bronze bell with my name engraved on it!!! I'll send Rod a picture
to prove it but it will be perfect to call the dogs for dinner won't
it??!!
The fact that Andrei came 3000 kilometers from a little town called
Kamensk-Uralsk to give it to me reminded me of how amazed I always
am at how far music reaches to touch people
you just never
know do you??
We all went back to the hotel and had a quick drink before bed
I was exhausted by now and happy to see my pillow!!
Next day...
