SUNDAY 15TH

Slept well and got up late. We were told that breakfast was served until noon but of course it wasn't!! But we were served some stuff… none of us could read a thing on the menu… and that was cool!

Russia is a great country that's developing fast and will one day be a major influence in this world of ours (you've said all that before… ed) though there are still little things that are lacking like signs in other languages!! It's quite daunting to be in a Russian airport for a domestic flight and when I flew to Samara I could only pray that I was on the right plane… but I am getting ahead of myself now!

Show day and we all wanted to wipe out the memory of Friday so we got to sound check at 3pm… missing the Italian Grand Prix in the process (big deal… ed)
everything was cool and Mikael and Vitaly, the local promoters, their staff and Richie who had booked this show had done a great job… all we needed now was an audience!

The Lensoveta Theatre is a theatre in the grand eastern style designed for symphony and opera with four tiers of seats… and it was completely packed!! even the orchestra pit!!

This was one of the best shows if my life… so completely fulfilling and I came off the stage with tons of flowers… I felt like Rudolf Nureyev (you should be so lucky… ed). Then the "gauntlet" of fans wanting pictures and autographs before we made it to the restaurant for dinner.

This was a great night and I could only hope that there was more of this to come…… a night for giving thanks… and I did!!

Next day...
