Tam al’Thor

The people of the Two Rivers are farmers and shepherds.  They are a stubborn group, willing to fight back against any adversity.  Tam al’Thor fits this mold perfectly.  He farmed in the Westwood, where only the toughest of Two Rivers folk thought to farm.

Few from the Two Rivers ever leave the area; most do not even realize they are a part of the nation of Andor.  But Tam al’Thor was restless and left the Two Rivers.  He left in search of adventure, and he most certainly found it.

Tam eventually found himself in Illian , and rose through the ranks of the Illianer Companions.  He learned the sword, became a Blademaster.  Tam was among those who fought the Aiel at the Battle of the Shining Walls outside Tar Valon.  After the battle, Tam found a baby boy abandoned on the slopes of Dragonmount and decided to take him home and raise him as a son.

Tam al’Thor returned to the Two Rivers with a wife named Kari and a son named Rand .  After Kari’s death, he and Rand continued to live and farm in the Westwood.  It was Tam who first taught Rand of the flame and the void.  And it was Tam who gave Rand his sword when Rand was forced to flee the Two Rivers.  Tam does not give any sign of knowing that his son is the Dragon Reborn.
