Review: X-Force

X-Force is a comic on a group of mutants in their late teens. It's never been real high on popularity because many people see them as a knock-off of the X-Men, and Marvel trying to get that flair back. My opinion on the tittle is very different. X-Force is a comic I enjoy immensely and have become obsessed with. The characters have very distinct personalities. The team has also been very assertive and independent. The characters are all from diverse backgrounds and different minority groups. Indeed, many of them would be discriminated against even if they weren't mutants. The main problem with the tittle is that it has often suffered from bad artists. The writing has been good overall, but the pictures never did the series justice.

1) It shows a group of people coming to turns with who they are, and often questioning their superiors in their quest of defining themselves.

2) The characters can be both funny and serious and they've always interacted well.

3) This is a team that has never been afraid to kick butt!

My favorite characters through all the changes in roster have always been Cannonball, Boomer, and Rictor. I like Cannonball for his leadership, honesty, and the way he always wants whatÕs right. Boomer because sheÕs smart-mouthed, perky, anxious for a fight, and has a heart of gold hidden inside. Rictor because he is tough as nails, an act first think later person, and because he's a hothead.

Some of the bad things about this tittle (excluding artists) are: Shatterstar!, to many unresolved plotlines, Cable always hanging around totting larger-than-life guns, and stupid villains. But there is something about this tittle, like the way it does things that no other tittle does, that make the errors less noticeable.
