Acetylcholine--Biochemical substance, a neurotransmitter that promotes the propagation of electrical impulses from one nerve cell to another in carbon based lifeforms.

Acynoliophin--A strong painkiller.

Adrenaline--Pharmaceutical based on the humanoid hormone epinephrine. Adrenaline was the accepted treatment for radiation illness right after the Atomic Age but was replaced as the preferred treatment after hyronalyn was developed.

 ADTH--A substance which may be pumped through the life support systems of a starship as a fast-acting stimulant.

Alizine--Alizine is used to counter an allergic reaction.

Amanita Muscaria--Poisonous mushroom native to Earth. The Amanita muscaria has a red or orange cap with white patches and if ingested, causes profuse sweating, convulsions, and even death.

Anabolic supplements--A T'Lani medical effort to curtail the effect of the deadly Harvester
 nano-biogenic weaponry: the artificial stimulation of the metabolic phase in which simple substances are synthesized into complex materials of living tissue. While infected, Chief O'Brien was able to continue working because of these supplements, applied via hypospray.

Analeptic--Pharmaceutical used as a restorative.

Anetrizine--Pharmaceutical used to anesthetize cranial nerves.

Animazine--Stimulant drug.

Anjoran Biometic Gel--Valuable substance.

Anesthezine--A sedative gas used for emergency crowd control and to subdue dangerous persons.

Anetrizine--Pharmaceutical used to anesthetize cranial nerves.

Anoxol--Anesthetic aerosol.

Anticoagulant--Chemical that prevents the clotting of blood.

Antigen--In biology, any foreign substance in a body that triggers an immune response. A synthetic antigen can be used.

Anti-hallucinogen--An unspecified drug prescribed as a thrice-daily dose of 30 mg for O'Brien to
take the edge off the hallucinations and depression stemming from his virtual-world imprisonment on Argratha. Bashir ordered it for a month before realizing their emotional cause.

Anti-intoxicant--Medicine taken to allow one to drink alcoholic beverages without becoming inebriated.

Antipsychotic--Psychotropic pharmaceutical used to reduce psychotic tendencies in sentient humanoid patients.

Arithrazine--Powerful pharmaceutical used to treat theta radiation poisoning. Starfleet regulations stipulate that a physician must be present whenever arithrazine is administered.

Asinolyathin--Pharmaceutical used for pain relief.

Axonol--Anesthetic aerosol.

Benjisidrine--Drug prescribed by Vulcan physicians for treatment of Ambassador Sarek's heart condition.

Benzocyatizine 24, 25, 39--A drug used by Trill doctors to stimulate failing isoboramine levels in joined hosts to avoid late rejection of the symbiont. It can be administered in small doses, approximately 2 mgs for a crisis situation.

Bi-telta--Drug used exclusively as an allergin for Vulcans.

Biomemetic Gel--Controlled substance. The sale of this expensive medical commodity is very restricted, even attempting to buy it is a crime under Federation Law.

Borathium--An experimental rybotherapy medication developed by Dr. Toby Russell as a potential replacement for leporazine and morathial. The drug was still in an experimental stage in 2368 when Russell used it unsuccessfully to treat a crash victim from the transport ship Denver.

Cateline--Drug. Cateline simulates aphylactic shock.

Cervaline--Antirejection drug.

Chloromydride--A second line pharmaceutical, used if inaprovaline is ineffective.

Cordafin--Pharmaceutical used as a stimulant.

Cordrazine--Extremely powerful pharmaceutical stimulant. A potent stimulant, use in Starfleet medical practice since at least the 2260s. A treatment of 25cc is considered to be a deadly dosage and usually used only as a last resort in life-threatening situations. Doctor Crusher used 25ccs
in an attempt to revive Lieutenant Worf during a cardiac arrest. Doctor Bashir used 2ccs to stimulate falling neurotransmitter levels in Bajoran Vedek Bariel, but was not successful. Bashir also used it as a stimulant on quickened Teplanites in 4mg doses, but it soon begins to lose its effect. Ensign Kim of the U.S.S. Voyager was given 2cc of cordrazine when he returned to the vessel from the Vhnori dimension. Doctor McCoy of the U.S.S. Enterprise received a deadly dose of cordrazine in 2367, causing madness and hallucinations. The EMH Doctor ordered 50 mg when Tuvok went into convulsions under a mindmeld.

Cordrize--Mild pain reliever effective for most humanoids.

Corophyzine--Antibiotic used to prevent secondary infection when viral fever cannot be lowered.
Doctor Bashir used 30cc of the drug on Chief O'Brien while under the effects of the aphasia-like virus.

Cortical Analeptics--A drug reputed for use as a healing agent following an attack. This drug was
claimed to have been used by a Changeling posing as Doctor Bashir to treat Science officer Dax while on the U.S.S. Defiant.

Cortolin--Used to treat a wound inflicted by a compressor beam weapon. Dr. Bashir used 10cc of cortolin when trying to treat Quark after his wound from Trazco's compressed Tetryon beam weapon.

Cyanoacrylates--A compound capable of generating low levels of eichner radiation which were found to stimulate growth of certain strains of deadly plasma plague.

Cryptobiolin--One of several chemicals used by the Angosians during the Tarsian War to improve their soldiers, making them more effective in combat.

Cyalodin--Poison used in the mass suicide of the adult members of the Starnes Expedition on the planet Triacus in 2268.

Cytotoxin--Biochemical substance, a poisonous byproduct of cellular metabolism. Excessive levels of cytotoxins can lead to cytotoxic shock.

Decidrinine--Drug used to make the natural memories of Cardassian deep cover agents emerge after they have been recovered and returned to Cardassia.

Delactovine--Systemic stimulant drug.

Deoxyribose Suspensions--A fluid derived from deoxyribonucleic acid (DNA).

Dermaline Gel--Medicinal material used in the treatment of burns.

Dermal Osmotic Sealant--Medicinal skin application used as a protection against epidermal irritation, such as that caused by exposure to trigemic vapors.

Dermalplast--Medical preparation used to treat chemical burns.

Dermatiraelian Plastiscine--Medication used to maintain the effects of cosmetic surgery.

Desegranine 36--Cardassian drug used to reverse memory loss.

Deuridium--Rare substance used by the Kobliad race to stabilize their cell structures to prolong their lives.

Dexalin--A medication used a to treat oxygen deprivation.

Dextrose-V--Medium stimulant used exclusively on Vulcans.

Dorek Syndrome-- A very rare and incurable disease that afflicts one out of every five million Ferengi.

Dylamadon--Drug used in euthanasia for humanoid patients.

Endorphins--Naturally occurring neurochemicals found in many humanoids and other vertebrate species. Endorphins are opiate peptides similar to the drug morphine, and can act upon the nervous system to affect sensations of pain and pleasure.

Fanalian Toddy-- A hot drink which is good for a mild cough.

Felicium--A narcotic substance produced from plants on the planet Brekka. Felicium has other medicinal properties, and was used, centuries ago, to cure a deadly plague on neighboring planet Ornara.

Felodesine Chip--A poison with no known antidote. Formed into a thin, one-inch orange disk,
                             one was hidden and later used by defecting Admiral Alidar Jarok.

Flatha V--Mild analgesic used exclusively for Vulcans.

Formazine--Federation standard stimulant.

Garlic Soup--A home remedy for the common cold before its full cure was developed. Even
so, it was the treatment used on Tom Paris's cold at age nine, delivered by "Old Doc Brown."

Ginger Tea--Beverage made from the root of the reedlike plant Zingiber officinale. Hot ginger tea is good for the common Earth cold.

Glucojen--A form of injectable glucose used in 2024 to raise the blood-sugar level of
hypoglycemia sufferers.

Herbal Medicine--Greenish powder made from a moss of the Ocampan homeworld, discovered
by the outcast Ocampa to have healing properties.

Hexadrin--Medication used in the treatment of Yarim Fel syndrome.

Histamine--Biochemical substance produced by the breakdown of histidine, an amino acid found in humanoid tissues. Histamine is produced by the body when it comes in contact with substances to which the body is sensitized, and is a primary factor in the humanoid allergic response. Histamine levels are characteristically depressed by a disease known as Iresine Syndrome.

Hortzaang--Strong sedative used exclusively for Klingons.

Huratonia--Medium strength anesthetic used exclusively on Vulcans.

Hydrocortilene--Analgesic medicine used to alleviate pain.

Hyperzine--Cardiac stimulant.

Hypicate--Root that has many varied uses. Hypicate is used in certain medicines, diffractive optics, and even some beauty supplies. A favorite among Ferengi.

Hypothelidamide--Mild sedative.

Hyronalin--Medication that is the treatment of choice for radiation sickness. A combination of hyronalin and lectrazine is especially effective.

Hytritium--A highly unstable substance used to neutralize poisonous tricyanate.

Hyvroxilated Quint-ethyl Metacetamine--Anesthetic potion.

Ico-tectamine--Medium strength memory inhancer.

Immunosuppressant--Any of several drugs designed to limit immune response in humanoids.

Improvoline--Medicine used as a calmative. Not to be used with inaprovaline, which is a cardiostimulant.

Inaprovaline--Cardio-stimulatory pharmaceutical.

Inpedrezine--A treatment used for cranial trauma, following up use of an osteogenic           stimulator on the fracture. A typical dose is 2 mgs.

Intraspinal Inhibitor--Intraspinal indibitor induces paralysis.

Invernian--A common herb which grows in remote areas of Invernia II and has medicinal
properties.

Irillium--Trace element found on planetoid Holberg 917G. When found in mineral ryetalyn, irillium renders the ryetalyn useless for medicinal purposes.

Isoboramine--An important neurotransmitter in Trills. It mediates the synaptic functions between the host and symbiont. If the level of this chemical gets too low the symbiont must be removed, leading to the death of the host.

Isogenic Enzyme--Biochemical substance crucial to Jem'Hadar physiology. The Founders genetically altered the Jem'Hadar's bodies so that they lacked the ability to produce isogenic enzymes, without which the Jem'Hadar were totally dependent on the Vorta, who acted as agents for the Founders, for supplies of the chemical, which they provided in the form of ketracel-white, an addictive drug.

Kayolane--A sedative.
 

Kelitane--A Klingon stimulant.

Kelotane--Drug used to treat burns.

Ketrecel White--Key isogenic enzyme that the Jem'Hadar are unable to produce themselves and must be provided by the Vorta. Without a constant supply it will lead to circulatory system failure. It cannot be replicated, however initial experiments with triglycerides show they can be used but only for a short time.

Kironide--Chemical compund found in the food on planet Platonius. Kironide is a long-lasting source of great power that, when ingested, endows many humanoids with extraordinary psychokinetic powers. The Platonians absorbed kironide into their bodies,giving them such powers, although their servant Alexander was unable to do so.

Lectrazine--Lectrazine is used to stablize cardiovascular and renal systems in humanoid patients.

Leporazine--A resuscitative drug.

Lexorin--Medication used to counteract Dr. McCoy's mental disorientation when he was suffering the side effects of carrying Spock's katra within his own mind.

Lidox-tranui--Strong tranquilizer.

Lorzetarine--Strong pain reliever.

Lorzetine--Medium strength pain reliever.

Lucrovexitrin--A highly toxic substance capable of causing nucleosynthesis in silicon. Lucrovexitrin is not normally detectable by a starship's internal sensor scans.

Lysosomal Enzyme--An organic catalyst found in certain lifeforms, such as Andorian amoebae, that use symbiogenesis as a means of reproduction.

Macrospentol--One of several chemicals used by the Angosians during the Tarsian War to "improve" their soldiers, making them more effective in combat. Unfortunately, the effects of many of these drugs were irreversible.

Mahko Root--Plant used by the Kahn-ut-tu women of Tyree's planet to cure the poisonous bite of the mugato.

Masiform D--Powerful injectable stimulant.

Medicinal Brew--A beverage containing water, sucrose, dextrose, tribnel root extract, grain  particulates, yeast, synthahol, and nearly 17 mg of hyvroxilated quint-ethyl metacetamin. An anestectic

Melorazine--Sedative.

Merfadon--A sedative.

Metabolic Reduction Injection--Medication synthesized by Henoch so that Kirk, Spock, and Dr. Ann Mulhall's bodies could carry the intellects of Sargon, Henoch, and Thalassa. The drug reduced heart rate and all bodily functions to normal, allowing the three to occupy the humanoid bodies without permanent damage to those bodies.

Metrazine--Cardiac antiarrhythmic drug. Used to stabalize the heart beats.

Mizarian Tricorbaline--Mild Benzite sedative.

Morathial Series--A group of resuscitative drugs.

Morphenolog--Pharmaceutical used to ease pain and stop convulsions.

Natinaline--Mild stimulant used with patients who are sensitive to other stimulants.

Neo-analeptic Transmitters-- Biochemical neuro-stimulants developed within the 2360s that Doctor Bashir hypothesizes and proves can put Nathaniel Teros' abandoned theory of Neuromuscular Adaptation to work -- and offer Elaysian Ensign Melora Pazlar  a hindrance-free life in "normal" gravity. The first infusion brings on increased  heart rate; a couple more are able to lessen the neural damage of even a phaser set to kill -- at least in an Elaysian's case.

Neodextraline Solution--A mild neural inhibitor. Used to inhibit traumatic memories until the patient is able to deal with them.  Can also be  used to treat severe dehydration.

Nerve Toxin--A deadly poison used by the Kazon with almost instantaneous effects.
 

Neural Paralyzer--Medication that can cause a cessation of heartbeat and breathing in a humanoid patient, creating the appearance of death. If such a patient receives medical treatment in time, a full recovery is possible.

Neurocene Gas--Lethal toxin commonly used in Cardassian security systems.

Neurozine--Anesthetic aerosol.

Neurotransmitter--Biochemical associated with the propagation of electrical energy between neurons in humanoid nervous systems.

Nogatch Hemlock--Substance poisonous to humans. There is no known cure for Nogach hemlock poisoning.

Norep--Medication, a derivative of norepinephrine, used especially for Klingons as a strong stimulant.

Norepinephrine--Hormone produced by the adrenal glands. Norepinephrine is chemically similar to adrenaline and is used medicinally to treat shock.

Pheromones--Biochemicals secreted by many carbon-based life-forms, whose scent affects the behavior of other members of the same or similar species. Certain pheromones control the degree of sexual attractiveness attributed to an individual. Empathic metamorphs produce highly elevated levels of a substance similar to pheromones during the final stage of their sexual maturation.

Polyadrenaline--Synthetic pharmaceutical based on the humanoid hormone epinephrine used to fight the affects of allergies.

Polynutrient Solution--Restorative formula given to patients suffering from malnutrition.

Prune Juice--A beverage made from the pureed dried fruit of an Earth plum tree. Good for constipation.

Psychoactive Drug--Chemical substance that has the effect of producing delusional or hallucinogenic results when administered to humanoids.

Psychotropic Drug--Any of a variety of pharmaceuticals intended to alter the psychological behavior of a ptient.

Pulmozine--Pharmaceutical used to stimulate breathing in a patient having respiratory difficulties.

Pyrocyte--A naturally occurring component of Ferengi blood. A distillation of these cells can be used as a poison to other species. While not fatal, this poison will provoke a severe allergic reaction.

Quadroline--An emergency drug used on the planet Malcor III.

Retnax 5--Medication sometimes prescribed to nearsighted patients in the 23rd century.

Retrocviral Vaccines--Attenuated retroviral compounds, used for preventative inoculation. These vaccines can be combined with other components to create a biogenic weapon.

Rhuludian Crystals--A powerful narcotic, banned by authorities near the Nekrit Expanse of the Delta Quadrant. Ingesting one Rhuludian crystal was reputed to make days of tedious travel seem like moments of exquisite rapture. Blue in color.

Ryetalyn--Mineral substance needed to cure the deadly disease, Rigelian fever.

Serotonin--Enzyme that serves as a central neurotransmitter in humanoid nervous systems.

Sleeper Fungi--Common term for thallophytes that can be used in a poultice.

Sodium Pentothal--Proprietary name for a brand of thiopental sodium, a serum used as a truth-inducing drug on Earth in the 20h century. Sodium pentothal has no effect on Ferengi physiology.

Somaptic Drugs--Drugs used as a cure for dream deprivation.

Stenophyl--Pharmaceutical that can be used to treat anaphylactic shock in cytoplasmic life-forms.

Stokaline--Medication given to Spock after he put himself into a deep trance in an attempt to regain control of the Enterprise from the Kelvans in 2268.

Strychnine--Alkaloid poison derived from the Earth plant Strychnos nux vomica. The poison also acts as a central nervous system stimulant, and in large doses causes convulsions and death.

Takeo Herbs--Bajoran plants valued for their medicinal value. Helps reduce swelling.

Talomine--Mild Andorian antibiotic.

Tedrathym--Strong Klingon antibiotic.

Terakine--Analgesic medication.

Tesokine--Drug used in high doses to allow a humanoid fetus to metabolise Bajoran nutrients after the fetus is transferred from a humanoid body to a Bajoran one.

Theragen--Nerve gas used by the Klingons, instantly lethal if used in pure form. Theragen used in a diluted form mixed with alcohol will serve to deaden certain nerve inputs to the brain of humanoids, therby acting as a sedative.

Trianaline--A general ressucitative drug used on most all humanoids.

Trianoline--Pharmaceutical sometimes prescribed for percussive injuries.

Tribnel Root Extract-- The derivative of the Tribnel root, possibly medicinal, is one of the ingredients in an anesthetic Quark tries to pawn off on Doctor Bashir as an energy boost
from the well-wishing Bajoran Monks before his Racquetball charity match with Chief O'Brien.

Tricarbodinito Ethacitozine--Strong cardiac stimulant. Used only after all other efforts have failed.

Tricordrazine--A powerful neurostimulant drug.

Tricyanate--A purple crystalline substance that occurs naturally on planet Beta Agni II. Toxic to humanoids.

Trinucleic Fungi--Used in the production of Ketracel White.

Trioline--Medium strength muscle relaxer.

Triox Compound--Medication used to help a patient breathe more easily in a thin or oxygen deprived atmosphere.

Trioxin--Medication used to treat severe lung damage.

Tripamine--Biochemical substance. Tripamine can sometimes be detected as a residue in the cerebral cortex following a temporal shift.

Triptacederin--A very strong anesthetic that is used to block out intense pain.

Tryptophan-lysine Distillates--Medication prescribed for treatment of a flu virus.

Type-5 Gradulizine--Drug used to stimulate synaptic brain functions.

Type-10 Troaline--Drug used to stimulate synaptic spinal functions.

Vandoropiline--Drug used for radiation poisoning.

Vasokin--Experimental drug used to increase blood flow to a humanoid patient's organs. In 22 percent of cases on record as of 2371, vasokin had the side effect of causing severe damage to the subject's lungs, kidneys, heart, and even brain. These side effects have been lessened in the years since 2371. Has a 84% success rate.

Venus Drug--An illegal substance believed to make women more beautiful and men more handsome and attractive to the opposite sex. Although the drug appeared to be highly effective when used to enhance the appearance of Mudd's women, it was later noted that a placebo does, consisting of inert gelatin, had a similar effect when ingested by Eve McHuron, suggesting that belief in oneself remains the most effective enhancement of all.

Veridium Six--A slow-acting, cumulative poison. Veridium Six has no known antidote.

Vertazine--Medication used to combat vertigo.

Voraxna--Poison deadly to Cardassians.

White (Ketracel-white)--Addictive drug, an isogenic enzyme, which provides nutrients.

Yridium Bicantizine--Chemical compound, an active ingredient in Ketracel-White.
