'MUSEUM ('not knowing...')'


not knowing if the
   body would
   keep

   even in sycamore

they placed figures in the
   tomb
   or the soul to
   live in

   left bread bee and beer

   the face of the
      dead
      painted on the
         coffin

they brought what he'd
   need
   grain a boat

      a woman

Lungs liver and
      stomach in a
   carved jar

      the heart still
      the body

   scarabs on the chest
   to stop it from testifying

      against itself
