CAROLINE ENNIS
I Want You
i want you
deep down
inside of me
farther than the paltry realms of cold
deeper than sex
than flesh and flesh and convex melding to concave, no
no... i want to watch you watching my insides
tumbling outward in an agonizing inversion of spiraling
fronds of ebony agony
paving themselves along the roof of my mouth
gasps escaping in strangled refusals
snarling and tripping about their own feet
until they give up to submission, admitting that
i want you deeper than deep
exploring me
imbibing my vibes with a strangeness
closer to me than my own thoughts
answering to my thirst before i bid
closer to me than the soles of my feet
and feeling me there with more accuracy than nerve endings
first from above and then below –
below me, with your scent injecting havoc
from within me,
absorbing all distraction save for
the alone that burrows into my bones
harder than even the brooding nearness of your look
and pricks need awake
selfish need that needs to be needed
my crazed flesh
welling from the cores of solitude that ache to be
no longer virgin
but crammed with you
but not in sex because sex is pain
something you give but take away again
fleeting reminder of what we could find
if only we could bear to roost in the deepest gullies
of holiness
decorum caging us apart from one another
ever coming together but shivering alone
and i want you
deeply embedded within me
but deeper than the paltry realms of sex
giving me a reason to be a woman.
