Dialogue 21

Hello Kathy - February 22, 1999 probably because there is more to Christian faith than just the written scripture of creation!
  • Vj ~ If there is more than what is written, then obviously it did not come from your “written scripture”. It simply means that there was an existing scripture long before your God finally woke up.

but rather who is the object of your faith; that is important from the Christian perspective of faith.

  • Vj ~ Isn't it also important when it comes to the Buddhists, Muslims and Hindus' perspective when they too have an “object” of their faith?

"How is this God able to make one without sin when He was not able to do so before. furthermore, wouldn't one without sin be more beneficial to mankind in the beginning rather than 4,000 years after."
Kathy responds , interesting question. One that a serious enough bible student finds enlightening when finding the answer.

  • Vj ~ It seems that any answer one come up with, whether it makes sense or not, is suitable for one's enlightenment.

How I read it, is that Jesus was at the beginning as He was at the Cross thousands of years later.

  • Vj ~ I read the Bible too, and one of us has to be an idiot and I know I am not the one. There is no mention of Jesus Christ in Genesis, unless he was Satan. Whom did he preached to and where was it recorded?

Satan is recorded to tempt him in several ways,

  • Vj ~ If he was truly the son of an omniscient God why did he allow his son’s temptation by the devil in the first place?

Kathy responds, no it is not God's will.

  • Vj ~ So why did He intervene to impregnate Sarah? He is no better than Abraham when it comes to adultery.

When Sara and Abraham choose outside the will of God, scripture is quick to point it out.

  • Vj ~ I see nothing serious to benefit mankind of what is pointed out. I am quite sure in spite of what he did, he is still enjoying heaven which means others can do the same.

This was one of those times.

  • Vj ~ It was one of many of those times.

Kathy responds, you were not asking for a Biblical view, you were asking for my personal opinion.

  • Vj ~ If the Bible is the source of your ethics and morals why should your opinion, differ from that of Bible.

Kathy responds, sounds like the character of who you want to represent is closely related to Satan himself.

  • Vj ~ Then you must also admit that Satan is an intelligent Character to expound such truths which in turn demand serious answers.

Christ was sent to save humankind from destruction,

  • Vj ~ Christ himself couldn’t save himself from destruction, how could he save humankind? The destruction of humankind started from the very beginning and it is still occurring in many ways. Everywhere you look there is poverty and destitution, crimes, man-made and natural disasters who is saved?

God is righteous in all that He is, we can trust in His authority.

  • Vj ~ His first authority was Satan who got thrown out of heaven how can you trust his authority when the same can happen to anyone else?

No-one who chooses this course will be left out, and no-one who seeks to find this way will be turned away.

  • Vj ~ We come again to those (in remote regions) who had no choice and those who could not have seek him when he was not there for them.

the bible teaches that God knows every man's heart. God knows every single hair of your person.

  • Vj ~ How come he didn't know Lucifer, Cain and all those he had created and then had to destroy them to start all over again.

    "Still haven't answered the question."
Kathy responds, He's around. Good enough for ya?

  • Vj ~ Nope! If he's around why does he need the holy Ghost and son?

It gives us insights of God's character and the patience He has invoked to remain steadfast to His promise.

  • Vj ~ So are you saying that its not the truth that sets one free, but a promise?

    Hello Kathy - February 23, 1999
Kathy responds: The bible is unique.
    1. Vj ~ So is the Torah, and the Q'uran and yet you do not see them as genuine scriptures for salvation.

It has 40 authors from every walk of life including kings, peasants, philosophers, fishermen, poets, statesmen, scholars.

    2. Vj ~ It simply shows that your God, the prophets, statesmen, philosophers, kings, poets and scholars had the same brains as the peasants and fishermen since they were all in agreement with the flatness of earth.

Moses, a political leader, trained in the universities of Egypt.

    3. Vj ~ Some Universities - I wonder who was teaching geography - a non-spherical earth and non-plurality of the worlds?

Peter, a fisherman. Amos, a herdsman Joshua, a military general Nehemiah, a cupbearer Daniel, a prime minister Luke, a doctor Solomon, a king Matthew, a tax collector Paul, a rabbi. ....Alexander the Great (6th century BC -- 4th century BC). Greek: New Testament language. Was the international language at the time of Christ. Its subject matter includes hundreds of controversial subjects.

    4. Vj ~ Sounds a lot like history of bloodshed in the absence of righteousness - so where is the revelation?

Was the international language at the time of Christ.

    5. Vj ~ And what was it before that?

A controversial subject is one which would create opposing opinions when mentioned or discussed.

    6. Vj ~ There is still controversy and it will never cease because it is all falsed. On all my boards, it is false religions that are in defense of themselves. Have you ever bothered to ask or read my site to know what my religion is?

There is one unfolding story: "God's redemption of man."

    7. Vj ~ It is most certain that you are nothing more than a closed-minded idiot like all the others who follow in these religions. Even though you aware of some very serious questions, yet you seek to defend it because you are so brainwashed in a belief system because of tradition.

    Hello rseigler - March 07, 1999
I’ve noticed that no one has taken a shot at this in a while, so I thought I would try my hand at it. I also noticed that your story was very similar to Matthew 20:1-16
    1. Vj ~ Very courageous I must say but on the other hand, I see no similarity.

"So the last will be first, and the first will be last."

    2. Vj ~ If this is the justice of your God, then the fallible system of man's justice is doing better. If it takes five years to earn a PHD it would not serve its true purpose of giving it to one who worked only one year for it. Similarly, it would be an injustice for one who has labored all his life to be a Christian in good standing to enter into the kingdom of heaven whilst it was handed to another who sought redemption only on the last day. Such an injustice can never be the work of a Just God. Furthermore, it is in contradiction to Mat.16:27 "..And then he shall reward every man according to his works."

God says that his ways are not our ways.

    3. Vj ~ Meaning our ways must be like His ways. He is wise, we must be wise; He is Just we must be just; in other words, our nature, attributes and characteristics must confirm with His, for us to enjoy His bliss of salvation.

Go to a high school baseball or softball game. Those players are all paid the same, and they can become very competitive

    4. Vj ~ It is competitive because it leads to the professional level, the same as a earning a degree. But it is entirely different when it reaches the professional level.

I make these arguments to say this: A player plays for the love of the game, not for the money. A Christian must server God for his love of God, not for any promises in the afterlife.

    5. Vj ~ There are also many who love the game but could never reach the professional level. So love alone does not qualify one as a professional but diligent individual efforts. It is and has been the same for all those who have and had risen to fame and so must it be, when it comes to salvation.

The worst players can only say, "I make this money, because the baseball-club owner is a generous man.

    6. Vj ~ You can say what you want to say and so does he, but he did not make the team because of generosity. If he lacks the performance expected of him, generosity would not guarantee him his job. And any God who grants salvation based on generosity without performance (wisdom), is an Unjust God.

" Eph 2:8-9 says "For it is by grace you have been saved, through faith - and this not from yourselves, it is the gift of God - not by works, so that no one can boast."

    7. Vj ~ Grace through faith alone cannot help any one if one is slipping, because one must maintain his performance to compete.

This is the reason that all Christians receive the same prize. So that we all may point to the one who won the game, Jesus Christ.

    8. Vj ~ If it is all one prize where is the incentive to practice higher ethics and morals? Why would one want to refrain from sin (lust or sensual pleasures) at an early age verses a later age? How can a priest, who strive beyond sacrifice to live good moral lives, as celibacy, etc., reaps the same prize as a redeemed mass killer-rapists? Does this make any sense to you? Is this what you and your Christ call justice? It may seem to be a merciful and compassionate act suitable to the latter, but not for the former.

It is my prayer VijaiSingh that you will see that God is not being unjust by giving us all the same,

    9. Vj ~ Such a God has no answers for any prayer.

he is being gracious by giving us all more than we deserve.

    10. Vj ~ It is only the ones who seek redemption get more than they deserved since they work less and got the same prize as those who work harder or longer. It is a shame that you have to teach your children or those in society to believe that such unjust practices are indeed God’s.

    hello Kathy - March 07, 1999
Nice post Richard. I especially liked this part: there is also a motivation here that I think that you may have over looked. The great player can look to himself and say, "I am the best players on this team, therefore I have earned this money." The worst players can only say, "I make this money, because the baseball-club owner is a generous man."
    1. Vj ~ And which Christian baseball club owner you know of, operates his team in such manner? If none, are you saying their courses of action are in defiance of biblical teachings? There are no enterprises in the whole world, business or otherwise, operates in such a manner and succeed. I can't see how any intelligent person can believe that an Omnipotent God operates in this manner.

      Good logic was used

    2. Vj ~ If this is what is called "good logic" I won't like know of your best ones.

however I've got to warn you Vij is playing with a set of rules that cannot be placed within a logical setting.

    3. Vj ~ And compliance is blasphemous to Christianity.

His faith lies in some sort of form of yoga, and a mythical religion based on a herarchy rather than a higher arch theory.

    4. Vj ~ It is a faith based on reasoning, in harmony with science and in conformity with natural laws and they all oppose the false religions.

Hope he responds to ya, cause I'd like to see just how he intends to explain away good logic.

    5. Vj ~ If only you knew what logic is all about, you won't have been using the word so loosely.

Vij, I'm back! Ha, I bet you thought I wouldn't be back out, but don't scratch my name off just yet!

    6. Vj ~ If you are back to seek true knowledge I can understand your joy, but if it is the reverse, I cannot even sympathize with your ignorance.

What is this about pain and misery. I've got to laugh, my 11 year old son is asking about eternity and how boring it would be.

    7. Vj ~ Little you know how right he is. We have live long enough on earth to know, that the purpose of extensive materialism satisfies the relief of banality and excessive use of it eventually brings the same results. The presence of the same in Heaven defies all logic of perpetual happiness. On the other hand, if its absence, in spite of Christ, cannot bring us perpetual happiness on earth, what would be the cure for boredom in eternal life.

Of course I can straighten him out easier than I can you.

    8. Vj ~ Of course, I can see how easy it is for him to be brainwashed and if he rejects he will be subjected to your threats of fearing God. I know, it happened to me.

He understands God's divine power and the gift of joy.

    9. Vj ~ If he is taught that stealing is joy, he would also understand it to be something good in nature. A child only knows what he is taught and is too young to understand especially when it comes to such abstruse knowledge of God.

You understand only that Christians claims of a sovereign God,

    10. Vj ~ It is my understanding that such a claim is false. A sovereign God has no location and needs no help as Holy Ghost and son. He is All-pervading (knows all) and Omnipresent, here, there and everywhere.

yet find little comfort within your own reasoning to receive His joy.

    11. Vj ~ What kind of joy can there be in a God that does not exist? False joy - is it a wonder that such a joy never last. If it did, there would not have been so many sects born of Christianity each opposing one another. It is even rather preposterous to believe they all are going to the same heaven which is supposed to be a unified society.

    Hello Kathy - March 08, 1999
      Bible Thumpers are the greatest!
    1. Vj ~ An obvious sign of good reasoning.

but I am overwelmed by something you wrote Vej that truly needs clarification.

    2. Vj ~ I see the whole of Christianity in need of clarification.

However, this is not what the Bible teaches. All must receive God's grace in that they must believe in the promise and act on it.

    3. Vj ~ Promise, Redemption, repentance or forgiveness has no other meaning than what they speak of - salvation for those at any age or time in life or judgment day, who accepts Christ. The thief on the cross next Jesus sure did "act" on it in only a few seconds, why does anyone else need more time to repent and be saved?

However, rewards are many via "Blessings" when looking for gratuities.

    4. Vj ~ I have been listening to Pastor John for quite sometime (vision tv) and for while he disappeared, but showed up yesterday (CTS I think). This time he was sitting like vegetable, stricken with a stroke and with his speech impaired, he was spurting out words of Christ's love in his heart as he did for all his life. On another Christian show they were interviewing a reformed criminal (about the same age) in good health, happy and joyful of bringing Christ in his heart. Seems to me Pastor John should have been a criminal before accepting Christ.

I might say from my own personal experience, the satisfaction and completeness I sense when working with our God and obeying His authority.

    5. Vj ~ How could your experience be held as genuine when I am experiencing the same with my God and his authority? It is the one who lacks good reasoning is the hypocrite here.

Yet, I... through the grace and compassion of our Heavenly Father know this joy now.

    6. Vj ~ So do I, and without Christ, which certainly means the one defending is a liar.

      Hello Kathy - March 08, 1999
Hello Vj, sorry about that post, I must have had some inner frustration left over from a email correspondence that requires I be slightly less than cordial.

    7. Vj ~ Doesn't speak well of the uninterrupted joy with the Heavenly Father you bragged about earlier. There is really nothing to be sorry about, you are entitled to your opinion and it is, my bounden duty to respond in a rational way. It is the only way to ascertain truth from untruth.

Can you tell me if there is any similarities, it would be very helpful to me.

    8. Vj ~ I would be more than happy to do so, but since I have not been credited for anything helpful to you so far, why would this one make any difference. The most important route of knowing truth must begin with reasoning - it was this kind of rational that placed Plato and other philosophers in conflict with Christianity. If you lack reasoning there is nothing I can say or do that will be helpful to you.
    Dialogue 26

    Hello Busyguy - March 09, 1999
"Vj-By the way, if you were denied redemption, know that God did not recognize you by your alias."
That's one of the wackiest things that you've ever said.
    1. Vj ~ Maybe, but you won't know until you get there if you ever do.

I "personally" know dozens of people including myself who are constantly giving up the "entertainment, money and whatever makes you feel good" in order to do what is right in the sight of God.

    2. Vj ~ You could have fooled me! The Christian world is engulfed in materialism from the Pope down to the poorest Christian. Without it they would be bored to death and many teaches the same (sailboats, games, music, etc.) the rewards of their heaven. The poor don't have it, not because of faith, but lack the means.

"The true love of Abraham impregnating his housemaid and Lot impregnating is two daughters. Any God who love such putrid characters is no less evil than they are."
That's a typical humanistic response which only associates love with sex. I'm not talking about populating the earth or reproduction, I'm talking about true love.

    3. Vj ~ True love must be considered in everything that God has created and if these so-called 'righteous men' of God could not practice it, then your Bible is certainly hogwash.

These so-called religions are just the perversions of what should be a true relationship with the one and only God.

    4. Vj ~ I agree and Christianity can be no different.

However when the child places themself as an equal to the parent then it is chaos. . It builds jealousy and anger and sometimes even hate.

    5. Vj ~ So what happens when the father is a murderer or a rapist?

Why are you acting so dense? This was an analogy between man and God, not an analogy between man and satan.

    6. Vj ~ Your analogy stinks. Since when God (father) can be angered or be jealous? Any God that is jealous of His children's wisdom can never be called God.

No. I was referring to you.

    7. Vj ~ Since when it is hate to disseminate the only truth that can free mankind from pain and misery.

"Vj-The dark age of the Christian church does not speak of such love. Isn't it possible that what it failed to do in the beginning it may not realize in the end also?"
Just another example of satan perverting religion in which you are focused rather than focusing on the relationship with God.

    8. Vj ~ If Satan is so powerful to pervert the "great almighty' Christian faith, then only an idiot would want to focus on it for a relationship.

What was done can not be excused but the person who is responsible for such things can be forgiven.

    9. Vj ~ What cannot be excused is an unjust God who would forgive such atrocities and deny justice to those who suffer because of it. Would you not say the same for any Governor who forgives all his prisoners by granting them amnesty?

Moses murdered Egyptians, Saul (Paul) murdered Christians, and Abraham attempted murder on his own son. But all were forgiven.

    10. Vj ~ So these murderers go to your heaven while I who never committed such crimes go to hell? The truth is I rather be in hell since it makes no difference of who goes where, but at least I know there would be no hypocrites there.

"Any God that look forward for such edification would be worst than Hitler which is of course reminiscent of the Biblical God, who committed adultery, incest and murder."
      God never did those things.

    11. Vj ~ Who impregnate Sarah and the Virgin Mary; who created one man and woman which left Cain with no choice but to have sex with his sister; who gave free-will without punishment that Lot could impregnate his two daughters; who murdered (flood of Noah's time) all of civilization to start a new one; and who murdered all the first born of Egypt and all the innocent women and children of Sodom.

Can the ignorant call the ignorant, ignorant? ......Don't confuse reward with salvation.

    12. Vj ~ How could I, when I truly know you are an imbecile? If heaven is not a reward for righteousness then hell cannot be punishment for unrighteousness.

MOSES was redeemed and he brought millions of his people out of slavery because of it. The incentive is the love and relationship with God.

    13. Vj ~ It would have been better they had remained in slavery, since they experienced worst for centuries to come until now (driven from their land, the holocaust, anti-semiticism, etc.). Seems more like, either an abandoned race or an unjust God.

Once again you are taking something from the sin of man and blaming it on God. Man's sin caused the fall of the "church." Sin was introduced by satan.

    14. Vj ~ You seem to have the intelligence of a jackass. And who created Satan?

But yet... God would forgive even you.

    15. Vj ~ If your God can forgive one of a jackass's intelligence, it won't be necessary for me to ask, is it?.

"Vj-The wise need no forgiveness since truth by His wisdom is the way to salvation."
Well I was talking about you.

    16. Vj ~ Thank you!

Those who are in regions are our responsibility to reach with the Gospel of Jesus Christ.

    17. Vj ~ And what happen to those for the past 2,000 years who are dead and gone where the Gospel of Jesus Christ did not reach them?

Perhaps it's you who thinks that you are a god... you're certainly selfish and jealous.

    18. Vj ~ If I am selfish and jealous it would be over ignorance, which is what the Christian faith is all about. I don't know of anyone else who would envy stupidity except a Christian.
    Dialogue 27
    Back to contents

    Hello Busyguy - March 09, 1999
you know you are right, it doesn't speak well on behalf my claims to honor Christianity.
    1. Vj ~ Was it the only time I was right?

Please feel free to point that out to me any time you wish

    2. Vj ~ I have been pointing out the cause (irrational dogma) from the beginning and you haven't seen it yet. If we can eliminate the cause there would be no more problem would it?

My only defense is simply to let this go and try to be a better Christian in the future.

    3. Vj ~ If it failed you this time which I am quite sure is not the first, why wouldn't it fail you in the future? There is no merit in being a good Christian, when it is a false religion.

It would please me with much delight if you help me with this.

    4. Vj ~ Now it sounds like you are abandoning Christ to seek delight in me. Though I am grateful for such a wonderful recognition, unfortunately such happiness must not lie in a man or mediator, but in the true knowledge of God (Vedas). A prime example is Dr. Schuller, on the Hour of Power, (Crystal Cathedral), who has been preaching Christ's love and compassion everyday of his life to millions for many, many years. He recently had to apologize for assaulting a flight-attendant simple because she couldn't find a place to hang his cape which Christ never wore at any time. Even if your aspiration is to become as pious as him or Abraham, Lot, Moses, David, Solomon, etc., then just look at the immoral actions faith without reason couldn't prevent. Again I am saying that Christianity is not and never will be a true reflection for perpetual happiness but the imminent cause of pain and misery - past, existing and yet to come.

Now Vj, do I read a sentence of cynicism in your statement. I thought we had gotten past this kind of intimidation and moved onto something of more essence

    5. Vj ~ If there is any intimidation, then the fault lies with Christianity not me. I am merely referring to its works and history.

Why don't you amuse my arrogance and comply.

    6. Vj ~ The amusement for me lies with your compliance to good reasoning, and not in your arrogance.

Exactly what philosophers are you speaking or at least clue me in on the time period.

    7. Vj ~ Galileo, a Copernicus, Bruno, etc. were all persecuted by Christians for declaring the roundness of the earth and plurality of the planets. If such a revelation (Christianity) could not have educate man of the truth of the world he lives in, then the question I ask, where did it come from?

So if Plato has some influence on your sect of religion that would make your claim that your religion was originated much latter than you earlier suggested.

    8. Vj ~ The Vedas is the source of all true knowledge (ethics, morals and sciences) and it existed from the very beginning of creation for all of mankind. Whatever these philosophers knew and whatever brought Christianity out of the era barbarism and tyranny, the Vedic religion was the source.

Yours, that you claim has very little history, and so I might find something useful in something closely related. So please do answer!

    9. Vj ~ Wherever and whenever wisdom is attained by the correct knowledge there is little or no use for history.
    Dialogue 28
    Back to contents

    Hello Kathy - March 09, 1999
No, I don't see the Bible as a sick joke!
    1. Vj ~ What else can be expected if you are also sick?

And this kind of remark leads me to wonder if you have some kind of axes to grind with those who claim the Holy Bible as the word of God.

    2. Vj ~ Wherever there is bigotry truth has an axe to grind. The Caucasoid are consistently brainwashing their young that they are the source of all ethics, morals and sciences when the source truly lies in another religion of another race.

What I'm getting at VJ, is your intro on this board is to Challenge a Christian to re-think his/her position.

    3. Vj ~ I only wonder why it took you such a long time to figure that out?

However, what I am getting from you on this remark is not at all this, but a person targeting a group of individuals with a vendetta. And this vendetta is tainted with ugly innuendoes that I presume are clearly to inject anger to the reader.

    4. Vj ~ It is a vendetta for the good of the human race. Make no mistake about it, it is significant of the seriousness of one's life (soul) now and in the future. A doctor on diagnosing a serious illness pulls out a surgical knife. He is ready to cut into you. Is it a vendetta? No madam, he sees a potential threat and is ready to cure you of your pains. I am also a 'doctor' and I also know the cure (the correct knowledge) for your sorrows, not only now but future lives to come.

Wouldn't a little session on your yoga mat make a better way of venting, rather than seeking out whipping posts?

    5. Vj ~ Indeed it does lot of good for me, but it would be selfish of me not to share it with the world. You are not only ignoring the pain and misery around but also refusing to acknowledge the doctor's diagnosis here, and now you are complaining that he has to cut into you.

the value given within the writings of the Holy Bible have more effect on me than a sect unknown to anyone except an elite few.

    6. Vj ~ What else can you expect when the company of the wise are few? This is the way it must be since earthly righteousness like everything else must decay from universality to individuality, and finally coming to an end in this the last age of this cycle of creation.

You see, using reasoning I can establish with very little research at all that your claim to the ultimate search and find, hasn't at all provided security of knowledge

    7. Vj ~ No I don't see. It is not reason it is ignorance. Remember a Christian does not know how to reason, the reason he/she is a Christian in the first place, and therefore would never know what is the correct knowledge.

You only claim it has the answers that humankind have searched for, yet where is the evidence to back up this claim?

    8. Vj ~ Where then lies the source of all sciences?

When I seek advice, I can read it within the writings of the Holy Scriptures.

    9. Vj ~ A scripture that tells you how to forgive your husband for committing the immoral act adultery, but neither can prevent him from doing it nor punishing him for it. Wonderful scripture it is! You are truly deserving of it.

But where can one seek advice from your claim?

    10. Vj ~ The only advice you need now is how to ingrain the proper reasoning habits.

Do the cockroaches crawl next to your yoga mat and whisper words of wisdom as you sit in this most uncomfortable position and hum a few dog dreaming sounds through you nasal passages?

    11. Vj ~ If those tiny cockroaches were the results of the response I draw from you earlier -
"you know you're right, it doesn't speak well on behalf my claims to honor Christianity. Please feel free to point that out to me any time you wish" -
then I can say without any hesitation that they are doing a better job than all those huge two-legged cockroaches in the bible who couldn't prevent it.
The “uncomfortable position” becomes comfortable when you have found the one true God of our creation. In reality when you are conscious with God all earthly comforts and discomforts are absent.

I who have managed to elude myself and try to work this out, have now become wasted effort?

    12. Vj ~ Most certainly, and it will continue to be so until reasoning kicks in. So far I have seen no indication of that. Look at it this way Kathy, what you know may not be wrong, but how do you know it is right? It can't be right because the Bible says so, because my Vedas and the Koran also say they are right by the same principle.

Perhaps it is not I who you have wasted but the message you wish to share.

    13. Vj ~ The message I bring is truth and is never wasted, but its rejection is detrimental to the soul.

My reasoning on this is simple in that you target those, to explain how, they have come to know God and wish to share those thought with the one, who at first glance appears to be confused about the actions of God.

    14. Vj ~ Confusions and weaknesses are traits of the gullible and unfortunately only a scanty few can be saved, but even if it is few it is a remarkable feat especially in an age where so many are daily being brainwashed because of the prejudice and bigotry false religions have brought on, on mankind.

However, when that first meeting occurs your prejudice starts to show it's unfortunate trait.

    15. Vj ~ Any fool who sees prejudice in wisdom will always remain a fool which neither I nor God has a cure. Remember it is truth that hurts.

Tell me VJ, isn't yoga enough for you?

    16. Vj ~ How little you know of the joy of disseminating truth which is measured by your consistent defense of Christianity. This truth individually attained by the practice of Yoga never has to be defended and that is joy of propagating it.

Perhaps sitting in that uncomfortable position has left you with a cranky disposition.

    17. Vj ~ Quite the opposite, it is the wrath of its results which you are now subjected to.

However, you summand Christian to ask, so what does that make your aptitude?

    18. Vj ~ On the contrary if you are defending it is most likely you are telling and not asking.

what are you saying here Vj? Are you saying you have been stricken with a stroke? Is that how you can estimate this persons life so easily?

    19. Vj ~ Obviously if I was stricken, I would have been best qualified to preach the Gospel, displaying God's mercy and compassion, enough to blurt out a few of His words.

and just moments ago, I was wasted effort.

    20. Vj ~ The longer you defend the Bible the more its becoming wasted efforts, your own if I may stress.

Doesn't your way of seeking truth have absolutes in them?

    21. Vj ~ Whenever you reach the state of reasoning you perhaps would be able to answer that best.

How can you say at first I have wasted your efforts, and then change the clause to read the contrary?

    22. Vj ~ Perhaps if you were not so frustrated you wouldn't have said that. I never said my efforts are wasted. If it were, I would have been long gone.

Perhaps your sect of religion has as many questions to answer as you claim Christianity does.

    23. Vj ~ Maybe, but how would Christian who is promised salvation and considered all else to be blasphemous, ever know?

Although I could at this time point out to you the other side of the coin on all these biblical characters you have just mentioned,

    24. Vj ~ What is there to point out, that even decent men of today cannot be deterred, like those maniacs of the Bible, from committing incest, adultery, rape, and murder because they do not have to be punished for their crimes.

I'm thinking instead I should ask, where are the heroes of your religious sect?

    25. Vj ~ Please don't even try to look, you won't find any. There are no mediators between man and God when it comes to the Vedic religion. There are a few heroes and the last one was Dayanand, a man of exemplary moral conduct, who brought reformation when this truth seemed all but lost.

Yoga in Mayfair or Fifth Avenue, or in any other place which is on the telephone, is a spiritual fake.

    26. Vj ~ Very true, all is fake until the correct knowledge is applied.

How can I relate to an almost unheard of "true religion" when there is no recorded history to answer any claims to?

    27. Vj ~ Reasoning must be your first priority if one must relate to "true religion" not history. If history was enough why not become a Hindu, since Hinduism is the oldest religion known to the Western world.

If someone is going to make claims that are life changing, I want to have the ability to examine it for myself.

    28. Vj ~ Really and have you examined my site yet, or are you lacking the ability to do so?

      PS
If you find this part interesting let me know and I will send you the other half later.

    Hello Psalm51 - March 10, 1999
    1. Vj ~ By your alias, it seems you are assured heaven already.

I have read a great number of your posts. About the only thing I have to say is that simply because a Christian has a different point of view does not mean that their reasoning is in any way defective but works off different principles of reasoning than yours.

    2. Vj ~ Your reading was wasted effort I would say, since it was of no benefit to you. If you have different principles of reasoning then it is false since it calls for it to be in harmony with science and in conformity with natural laws.

You are simply coming from your own paradigm. It does not necessarily make your arguement reasonable or even intelligent.

    3. Vj ~ And how would you, one of a static intellect, know that?

Now, I could go into a sparring match of apologetics with you but this would be friutless in any case since one will not change the others mind or reasoning.

    4. Vj ~ If it is fruitless it means you are the loser because mine is genuine which never let me abandon in any such case.

If we do not have moral absolutes then we are totaly & irrevocably lost. ...In my oppinion you defeat your own arguement my friend.

    5. Vj ~ There are laws of our land and they are not intended to punish us, but to deter us. However, if we violate them, we must be prepared to suffer the consequences. God governs His creation in the same manner. What is to deter us from sinning if we are pardoned by Grace or Faith? It does not take a highly intelligent person to know that adultery is wrong, how then can a prophet not know before the act, that it was wrong? How can the God who sent him not know that he didn't know it was wrong and instead chose to forgive him? God is omniscient and His choice of a mediator should have been one of very firm character.

      Hello Kathy - March 10, 1999
Vj, Psalms51 has made some very good points.

    6. Vj ~ You would surprise me if you didn't know of any Christian with good points.

One's that I have tried to relate to you, however mine took a much longer route.

    7. Vj ~ In case you haven't noticed, it is the same when it comes to acquiring true knowledge. It is only longer because one's lacks the proper reasoning habits.

than continue on in struggle with arguments that only lead to further more arguments.

    8. Vj ~ When Christians are the ones on the defensive, how could I be the one struggling?

Unless, what you are truly asking for is to be convinced!

    9. Vj ~ Do you think I am one of those idiots, who is waiting for someone to raise the dead before my eyes? Nothing could be more convincing to the gullible watching Benny Hinn cure the cripple and blind. It won't be long before he starts to raise the dead. Instead of appealing for donations he could have easily made a deal with medicare and take his work to all the hospitals of the nation. Crooks and scoudrels like him make easy prey of the gullible like you and in the same manner Christianity was founded.

This is what I am waiting out for

    10. Vj ~ And here I thought, it was the return of Christ.

I am committed and remain steady in my way of thinking.

    11. Vj ~ So are the fools, without thinking, who gain salvation on judgment day by repentence. Besides I don't know of any fool who doesn't want to remain a fool either, because of it.

And I have reasonings to back up my faith.

    12. Vj ~ And which fool doesn't know salvation is effortless through redemption. A dream that comes true for the lazy.

"hourse feathers?" gee, I wish I thought of that one.

    13. Vj ~ Now that you have, I hope you are enjoying the company of fools even though horse have no feathers, unless the Bible says otherwise. Then again anything is possible with your God, no matter how stupid it looks or sounds.

      Hello Rseigler - March 10, 1999
Simple. The time from the Exodus to the end of the Old Testament is approximately 950 years. That’s a lot of history for one book.

    14. Vj ~ I am well aware that you can read and write, but it is your intelligence I question. History is not a revelation since it has already been known to man. Can you not get that?
"Revelation is a communication of something which the person to whom the thing is revealed did not know before. For if I have done, a thing, or seen it done, it needs no Revelation to tell me, I have done or seen it done nor enable me to tell it or write. Revelation therefore cannot be applied to anything done upon earth, of which man is himself actor or witness and consequently all the historical part of the Bible which is almost the whole of it, is not within the meaning and compass of the word Revelation and therefore is not the Word of God." Thomas Paine.
Whatever history I come to know of now, is a revelation by man's own actions and learning, but not that of God.

While the history itself may not be a Revelation, the actual instructions were, and therefore the whole object becomes one. Basic set mathmatics, kids.

    15. Vj ~ May God help those you teach. How could it be a revelation from God, when history is history of occurrences that already took place, and the instructions later given are based on it. It is a shame and a disgrace to human intelligence that men like you would go all out to protect such an irrational tradition rather than striving for the correct knowledge to elevate the soul. What is it Richard, bigotry?

    Hello Rseigler - March 10, 1999
I am fairly busy in "real life"
    1. Vj ~ Quite the opposite for me since I found true religion.

The vineyard owner = The Baseball Club owner. The people that worked the longest = The best players. The people that worked the shortest = The worst players. If that is not enough to explain it, then I am sorry, but I’m not doing any more than that.

    2. Vj ~ It is not the individuals that we must draw similarity but by justifying their actions against rewards and punishments and especially to the one dispensing justice. If you cannot do more than what you have done, it only shows that you are avoiding the real issue here.

I have a problem with your example above.

    3. Vj ~ And I haven't gone into the Bible yet.

They don’t have five years. They don’t have two years. They have 24 hours. If they don’t get it done, we shoot them both.

    4. Vj ~ Another injustice of your God since some are fortunate to know Christ all their life, while some are given a short time and some no time at all.

The Bible says that NO ONE is perfect enough for God. +

    5. Vj ~ And don't you see that if you listen to the Bible you would be an idiot all your life? Grow up, man! Richard, if you can't find water in one well you won't simple give up and die of thirst, will you?

God had to come down and do it himself

    6. Vj ~ Where is he coming from? How can your God dispensed justice in a fair way if He is not around? Can Clinton govern the USA effectively if he chooses to live in Siberia? It is just another violation of God's attribute of being Omnipresent. It is no wonder a fool gets to go to heaven.

I will say this, that there are several possible answers to this that would remove the conflict.

    7. Vj ~ Being a Christian I am quite sure you will find a way to remove the conflict, like the ones above, no matter how stupid it sounds. But again that is Christianity for you.

      Horse feathers!!!!

    8. Vj ~ Not an intelligent answer but if the Bible teaches that horses have feathers, then you are within your rights in belief.

I say that there are NONE who make it to the professional level who do not love their game.

    9. Vj ~ Love only grows as the knowledge for the game increases and for professionals, their talent. The same with salvation, the more one grow in wisdom the greater his love for God, fellow humanbeings and all innocent creatures of our creation. I hope you are vegetarian.

Is your "diligent individual effort" good enough to play on God’s league? I suggest that you think about this very carefully before you answer.

    10. Vj ~ Christians are driven by the notion of a fear that if they don't give their God the love he deserves they are all doomed to hell for all eternity. Christians know nothing of God, if such a lunatic as they believe in, exists, he is nothing but lustful and deceitful bloodthirsty maniac, worst than Lot who impregnated his two daughters, and cannot be called God. There is my answer after careful thinking.

And God said" and there was. Can your arguments create something out of nothing?

    11. Vj ~ One who brings something out of nothing is called a magician. You should know this or do you rate them superior to your God. It shows the how ignorant the God of the Bible is. Something can never come from nothing and from nothing, something. Matter is an eternal entity and is the material cause of the universe.

So when you die, and you stand before God, and he ask "Why should I let you into my heaven?" what works from your life will you point to?

    12. Vj ~ That depends on whose God I am standing before. In my religion, God asked nothing of anyone, because He has already given us instructions of what would be our rewards and punishments when these instructions are adhered to or being violated. So by true knowledge we know what is expected and since we know, we are not heading into the hereafter like blind bats but with the certainty that we have performed accordingly, it truly fits the meaning of "what a man sows that will he reap" nothing less and nothing more. This is called justice.

If no one’s works are good enough to get them into heaven, then all they have is grace. And who should grace be given to? The one who ask for it, or the one who rejects it?

    13. Vj ~ If their works are not good enough for salvation they return again and again until they get it right. God is eternal and it makes perfect sense that this cannot be the only creation. Can His grace save a man from execution? Or is the law of Texas higher than his grace?

If I have been freed from something (and the Bible says that I have) then why should I want to go back to my chains?

    14. Vj ~ Doesn't grace work until the end? Unless grace only applies to the first time you ask? If it only applies to the first time, then there is no need for judgment day, is it? And if you can ask on judgment day, then why bother to stop sinning before then?

You ask me how it is fair that the priest and the killer-rapist should get the same. It is fair because they both should die.

    15. Vj ~ You have got to be an idiot who constantly sits on his brains. So why don't we execute both a petty thief and a murderer since in death it is fair?

There is no difference, for all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God, and are justified freely by his grace through the redemption that came by Christ Jesus."

    16. Vj ~ How could it be fair when some sin more than some? All the prisoners in a jail committed crimes, but they are not all serving the same time. If these laws are built on Christian principles, why is not the same for our criminal system - all crimes one penalty?

The best answer I can give is to say that death is death.

    17. Vj ~ If your best answer makes you an idiot, why give me your worst answer. Death is not death because there is resurrection.

Both the priest and the murderer are condemned to death for their sin.

    18. Vj ~ So Christ died because of his sins also? No wonder there is no one to teach Christians how not to sin. If death is the punishment then what sin is deserving of a child’s untimely death?

What should it matter that one is condemned for the "little" and the other for the "large"? Both will die in the end.

    19. Vj ~ So why would it matter if you have a short affair with your neighbour's wife and he, with your wife his entire life? Both of you will die in the end and reap the same rewards.

This is not about the priest or the murderer, but it’s about God.

    20. Vj ~ True, it is about God's stupidity and this is why I say that "a fool can make a fool of God". According to your reasoning we can safely say prisons are not about prisoners but judges.

It matter not which one I am, for his grace covers me.

    21. Vj ~ So you are saying that one born an idiot can go to his grave an idiot and reaps the same reward? Then the necessity for God's word, is to tell an idiot he can gain salvation as an idiot. Wonderful philosophy!

And in God’s eye we can all become his children.

    22. Vj ~ And what are we now?

I’m going to pray that God will open your eyes to see the things

    23. Vj ~ While you are at it why don't you pray to win the state lottery and donate it to your church?

That you will see that he died for you so that you too join the priest and killer with God in heaven.

    24. Vj ~ What wise man would want to spend eternity with a bunch fools led by a bigger fool Jesus and the biggest fool of all, the Christian God.

    Hello Christ1- March 11, 1999
An excellent analysis of the existence of God. I have no doubt of His existence either, but it is the weak performance that violates His Omnipotent, Omniscient and Omnipresent attributes.
The Bible alone and in it's entirety is The Word of God!
    1. Vj ~ I doubt it since he left Cain with no choice but to have sex with his sister.

By the questions we pose, Ourselves we deceive. So limited in thought By what we choose to perceive...

    2. Vj ~ That he created this world out of nothing is also "limited in thought by what we choose to perceive..."

      Hello Kathy - March 11, 1999
Don't let Vj's objections fool you into thinking it was wasted effort. His goal is to place doubt just as the professor in your post.

    3. Vj ~ There is a difference Kathy, I am not an atheist as the professor. But I would like to add that the Professor is in a better position than a Christian who accepts a God whom he or she knows anything about. It is better to be an atheist than a hypocrite.

Yet, because Vj protest means something within your post made his claim less acceptable, and now he will go onto make you defend your position even further.

    4. Vj ~ I am not only here to contradict the the irrational defenses put forward for the existence of God, but which God, the Christian God, Muslim God, the Hindu God or the one true God? Obviously they all cannot be the same God since these religions all oppose each other.

A camouflage for his own doubts, in my humble opinion.

    5. Vj ~ And what could be a better camouflage (redemption) for morality as the acts of incest, adultery and murder?
    Dialogue 32

    Hello Rseigler - March 11, 1999 - Re-Post# 139
      who rescued my eternal soul
    1. Vj ~ If your soul is eternal where was it before it found embodiment as an idiot?

While we were still sinners, Christ died for us.

    2. Vj ~ So what happened to the sinners before Christ, who died to save them?

A magician is a cheap side show compared to the incredible power of God.

    3. Vj ~ Strange, that their performance is the same - they both bring something out of nothing. Did I not also mention that these guys can cut you up, slice you in several sections and bring you back to life in one piece? Tell me more of the incredible power of your God. If these magicians were performing such cheap tricks in that time as Jesus did, their names too would have been in the Bible. What more can I say of ignorance.

Even Einstein was able to prove that you can destroy matter to create energy and visa versa.

    4. Vj ~ So how was it destroyed if it can be reversed? Why even attempt to explain science when your bible, the 'word' of God speaks nothing of it?

Of course God can save a man from execution. But how much more powerful would God be to allow that man to die, and then bring him back to life? Which would show God’s power more?

    5. Vj ~ So where is Ted Bundy? Telling me where he is, would not be an example of God's power but how stupid you are.

Having been saved from the burning building, should I turn around and run right back into it?

    6. Vj ~ Contact with fire is instant pain which no one wants, and contact with the vagina is pleasure which every man would like to repeat since they can get away with it (redemption). I am quite certain you are not that stupid to know the difference.

Should I show contempt for my rescuer?

    7. Vj ~ To be on the safe side it would be better to ask for forgiveness on Judgement day. Of course, that is, its purpose, isn't it?

you declare that because I have not included it, it must be stupid.

    8. Vj ~ No, not really. I meant everything coming from you so far is stupid and one more made no difference.

and instead are resorting to name calling.

    9. Vj ~ Well, since your God created the language, I am quite sure he must have taught you how deal with it.

      "See! All Christians are hypocrites."

    10. Vj ~ No, all Christians are not hypocrites, only those who brainwashed their young to believe in Christianity.

but instead continue to pray for you.

    11. Vj ~ Now, now you are insulting your intelligence! If prayer works, why is it not working for the whole world of Christianity?

You gave us a quote to chew on, so now I present one for you:

    12. Vj ~ There is a difference - I gave you a sensible one, which you haven't grasped yet.

for they are foolishness to him, and he cannot understand them,

    13. Vj ~ Very fitting of a Christian indeed!

Vj, if you truly wish to understand the things of God, then do not ask me, or any other man, but ask God for understanding. God is just. God is kind. God is listening. He will answer, if you ask and listen.

    14. Vj ~ Richard, if you truly wish to understand the true nature of God, then ask me, or any other wise man, but do not ask God. God won't listen to you. The one true God answers no one that eats a cow.

    VijaiSinghto Rseigler - March 11, 1999
I vow this day forward to pray to God that he will make your life miserable.
    1. Vj ~ Seems you are determined to make your God look even more stupid. Any God that answers such prayer cannot be called all-wise.

You will have good days and bad days, just like the rest of us, but surly as time goes by your life will become worse and worse. You will begin to hate each day because you will come to realize that you have no hope.

    2. Vj ~ And you were about to convince me that your religion is not one of fear.

And I know that this pray will be answered, because right now I call upon the name of the Lord, Jesus Christ, and God is very jealous of his name and he will uphold those who call upon his name.

    3. Vj ~ While you are it why don't you ask this jealous God to cure the Pope, Billy Graham, Pastor John and Ronald Reagan who are all stricken with incurable painful diseases? And also Benny Hinn who is busy healing everybody else but his own back pain.

But I am not praying this just to spite you, but instead in the hope that you will understand that indeed God does listen to his people.

    4. Vj ~ How come he is not listening to those Christians (Pope, etc.) I mentioned above.

And to stop this, all you have to do is ask God into your heart.

    5. Vj ~ If this God is in your heart and your prayers are negative towards me, then what would happen to you if I let him into my heart?

Ask him to save you from your own intelligence which has not given you wisdom, but foolishness.

    6. Vj ~ Reminiscent of jackass braying, lots of noise but no reasoning.

Ask Jesus to save you from your sins, and I can promise you a peace that you can not find anywhere else.

    7. Vj ~ A peace that can be broken by insults is only for Christians.

I'll check back on this board periodically to see how you are doing Vj.

    8. Vj ~ Like your magician God, I assume you are going to the disappearing act.

      P.S.
Here is the answer to his prayer. I knew he was going to disappear when I threw in the Muslim revelation.

    Hello Kathy - March 11, 1999 - Re-post # 147
Well, to be completely truthful, I can't honestly say I was looking to count and/or accredit you with being "righteous," wouldn't that be an admission of hypocrisy?
    1. Vj ~ In the same way is it not hypocrisy to accept Christianity as the means of salvation, when you don't know of the Vedic religion?

      The cause for what?

    2. Vj ~ "had some inner frustration" again?.

"My son, do not make light of the Lord's discipline, and do not lose heart when he rebukes you, [6] because the Lord disciplines those he loves, and he punishes everyone he accepts as a son.").

    3. Vj ~ I guess that leaves you out in the woods, since you are a female. So why are those who are not his sons suffering? Seems to me whether you are his son or not there are sufferings. What more can be said of an unjust God?

In the final analysis, under such a view, people are saved by their works, but the New Testament emphatically states that men are not saved by works.

    4. Vj ~ How do you explain His Omniscient power, when He is inconsistent?

that Jesus was also God, God come in the flesh,

    5. Vj ~ How do you explain His Omnipresent power, when He was localized?

You know, I keep seeing this patern of yours that has some very questionable concerns.

    6. Vj ~ It would have served you better if you had tried to understand the patern of reasoning.

It seems you are inclind to respond to almost all of my statements.

    7. Vj ~ Are you saying that "almost all of your statements" are rubbish and are not worthy of a response?

Almost as if there is a duty or discipline behind the action.

    8. Vj ~ Yes, it is the only way to ascertain truth. Ignoring them as you do is like hopping around like monkey with no specific destination.

I have the strength of Jesus Christ at my side.

    9. Vj ~ Same can be said of Pastor John before becoming a vegetable. If that is the sign of Jesus' strength, my sypathy goes out to all Christians.

Why don't you amuse my arrogance and comply.

    10. Vj ~ The amusement for me lies in when you can comply to reasoning, and not your arrogance.

Kathy Responds: please forgive me for simply stating "no comment."

    11. Vj ~ It is not easy to forgive ignorance when knowledge is your pain by perception.

time has run out for me at present, and although I have some research to share with you on your question, I have spent as much time as I can on the beginning of this post, so perhaps I might reply at another time.

    12. Vj ~ Do you know why those who chose to take the fifth amendment, did so. They had something to hide.
    Dialogue 35
    Back to contents

    Hello Kathy - March 11, 1999 - Re-post # 122 - the other half.
Now Vj, are you being reduced to insulting on a prejudice level?
    1. Vj ~ A typical assertion of wisdom through the eyes of a fool.

I thought yoga was a form of meditation that makes a person seek out being a better kind of human being.

    2. Vj ~ A wasted thought if you have never practiced yoga. Isn't this what I am to trying to do, make you a better human being, not only in this life but the next?

Does this mean Vj you need more time on your mat?

    3. Vj ~ On the contrary, it is you who now have to find yourself a mat.

What happened to the "I am better than you in every way possible" attributes you possess

    4. Vj ~ Trust me, after your first few session on the mat you would be able to anwer that yourself.

Or maybe those little insects that crawl around next to your mat slipped a few negative messages into your thoughts while your eyes were closed

    5. Vj ~ I won't doubt that it ever happen, because those villians are re-incarnated souls of Christians.

I know you must have something other than yourself to blame here and that is why I bring up the insects.

    6. Vj ~ Now that you know who those little fellas are, you may have a good point.

They are perhaps the science, nature that you seem to always include are a part of your special message .

    7. Vj ~ Makes no sense to you anyway, since science and nature has nothing to with grace and faith.

so is my word that goes out from my mouth

    8. Vj ~ Now it is up to you to reason within natural laws and science to know His word. All religions profess something of the same nature, and simple because there is some truth in it, it does not mean it is the whole truth. As a matter of fact, you won’t know what is the whole truth by it alone.

      That makes you what Vj?

    9. Vj ~ It makes me one who reasons with the guidance of correct knowledge, which is in conformity with Natural laws and in harmony with science. All these are lacking in false religion.

Which one of the God's of the Greek time are you claiming to be?

    10. Vj ~ Why, are you so gullible that you are planning to worship me also?

Vj don't look now, because the truth sometimes hurts when facing it,

    11. Vj ~ It is better to look at it now and face up to it hard realities since life is short, otherwise it would be no good to you after death.

but if you do you might see that makes yours just as false as the claim you are making on Christianity.

    12. Vj ~ For you who knows nothing of my religion it might be false, but to me who knows both yours and mine, it is not false.

yes I know that now Vj, your yoga takes good care of you.

    13. Vj ~ So why are you waiting for a man (Jesus) who died 2000 years ago to take care of you?

So you say, but then you can say anything you like because how can someone challenge it?

    14. Vj ~ Unlike your God who can do anything, I can't say anything, but only that which is in harmony with reasoning and science and in conformity with natural laws.

There is nothing to substantiate your claim and therefore nothing to examine.

    15. Vj ~ Far from the truth, I have a website, be brave enough to investigate and ask questions. It is the only way to true learning..

Wait a minute here, this is the first I have heard that your sect of religion has a market on healing and or promises a perfect life!

    16. Vj ~ There is a first time for everything. I am happy for you.

Is that why you have made this testimony.

    17. Vj ~ The source of all medical sciences is the Ayur Veda, not the Bible.

Perhaps you might consider writing a short gospel.

    18. Vj ~ It is what I have been discussing with you for the past two months. If you couldn't figure it out yet how would it appeal to others.

With your special wisdom and healing powers I am certain the Pope would make you a saint before you die!

    19. Vj ~ If the Pope cannot cure his own afflictions and that of Pastor John, a loyal Christian, how would his sainthood benefit me? Besides I never said Yoga heals, it is prevention, which is better than any cure.

And because I have your word on it, we can just wipe out all those messy illnesses that plague humankind.

    20. Vj ~ You can do it without me, by abandoning the cause of "all those messy illnesses" - Christianity!

Never mind healing the planet or even just the atmosphere, lets just keep this to ourselves

    21. Vj ~ Now you are becoming a bit selfish, aren't you? I know it sound too good to be true, but you are a typical example of why it would never work. In reality, if you do keep it to yourself, there is no harm either.

yes I suppose I did say that (of yoga). But how do I keep those nasty bugs out of it?

    22. Vj ~ Very simple, quit eating the cows, they ("nasty bugs") are attracted to the carcasses of dead animals.

How can I know that the voice I might hear during a yoga sitting isn't one coming from a few bugs?

    23. Vj ~ If the bugs remind you of Jesus know that they were Christians and if they bring you true knowledge know that that they are wiser than Christ.

As I see it, there is no confirmation at all! I would blindly follow only what you say is logic, but how does one attest to what is logical or not when there is no absolutes to follow.

    24. Vj ~ It shouldn't be difficult for you to follow blindly, you are doing splendidly as Christian anyway - following blindly in only what the Bible says, whether it make any sense or not. Perhaps if you follow true religion by applying its good reasoning power you won't be blind all your life.

I could go into a yoga sitting and come out saying anything I wish, such as I am Princes Diana reincarnated [even though I am much older and not at all as pretty] and now that I'm back I've decided to take the United States into my realm and create a "New" world class of people. Perhaps I would have some of your very own attributes VJ, I could say anyone carrying a wallet in his right pocket can't possibly have logic enough to sustain themselves so they must be banished into the deep dark alleys of New York for all time. Can yoga really do this for me?

    25. Vj ~ If the Bible promises you all and even more of this in the afterlife, why disbelief for yoga which you haven't even tried?

No Vj you are wrong, sadly I must say that you have as many like you understood the Bibles teachings but without clearly reading them yourself have taken what someone has taught you and made a case against it

    26. Vj ~ And I thought I was the only one. How do you know it is not the same for you, taking what others interpret the bible to be and making a case for it?

If you had read the Bible yourself you would know it's purpose is to inform those reading it that salvation and knowing God the creator written about in Genesis is in fact open to all humankind.

    27. Vj ~ Not because it is open to all humankind makes it the truth. Isn't Islam and Judaism also open to all humankind? They start from Genesis too. Again if ever I do understand the Bible I will still have a problem, which sect or denomination do I place allegiance to.

From the beginning until the time chosen by God, we are accepted into His realm.

    28. Vj ~ Which is His realm, your heaven, the seventh heaven of Judaism or the Paradise of Muslims?

You have a misguided view point VJ, but because you seek out Christians you have acknowledge to those persons your truest desire is to know the truth.

    29. Vj ~ I only hope you can acknowledge such desire for truth also.

You in fact are asking for a argument that would change your life and not as you say to change others.

    30. Vj ~ Hardly true, viewing these discussions from where I am (neither affected by praise nor insults), seems to be a better position than where you are (inner frustration of being offended).

It is very clear to me, the Holy Spirit that draws all spirits closer to God, is asking you there as well.

    31. Vj ~ It has been clearer to me that the Holy Spirit is a greater fool than you are and drawing you further away from one true God of the universe.

    Hello disciple 4 - March 12, 1999
The Book of Revelation says that Jesus has many rewards for those who continue to overcome (the letters to the churches in the first four or five chapters).
    1. Vj ~ Very good, and what were the rewards for those before Christ?

I believe that, whereas all can come to salvation, there will be greater rewards for some than others.

    2. Vj ~ It is only a belief with no reasoning. To say "I believe Jack was in the train" is a statement made with doubt, rather than "Jack is in the train" which adds certainty. Bliss (heaven) is bliss (heaven) what greater rewards can there be.

Those rewards are the "perks" so to speak, in heaven.

    3. Vj ~ And what are they? Like any race or competition we know what the rewards are. It makes sense to know what they are otherwise what would give us the incentive to strive for something we know nothing of.

      Hello Tennwalkr - March 13, 1999
There is only one comment I would make at this time and that is:

    4. Vj ~ There is only one response I would make at this time also.

Be not deceived; God is not mocked: For whatsoever a man soweth, that shall he also reap. Galations 6:7

    5. Vj ~ Not so, when he is forgiven by repentance and redemption. Any man who believes in such a book as the Bible lacks reasoning and is completely lost. Try again!

      Hello Christ1 - March 13, 1999
Vj ~ An excellent analysis of the existence of God. I have no doubt of His existence either, but the weak performances of the Christian God, violating His own attributes and the immutable laws of nature, create a lot of doubts.

The Bible alone and in it's entirety is The Word of God!

    6. Vj ~ I doubt it, since Cain had no choice in having sex with his sister. Since incest leads to physical as well as mental infirmity I would have to assume it is the sole reason (perverted intellects) why Christians would want to believe in such a book.

By the questions we pose, Ourselves we deceive. So limited in thought By what we choose to perceive...

    7. Vj ~ That he created this world out of nothing or that the earth is flat is also "limited in thought by what we choose to perceive..."

    Hello Kathy - March 13, 1999
Exactly what philosophers are you speaking or at least clue me in on the time period .

First of all, it is true that mere logic shows only what is possible or impossible. We know by logic, that square circles are impossible.

    2. Vj ~ Since the dead was raised and sea was split only once (one period of time), does this logic not tell you that it didn' t occur before because it never occurred again; and that it can never occur in the future?

We know also that something can exist, since no contradiction is involved in claiming something exists.

    3. Vj ~ An Omnipotent God exists (known) but the creation of Satan who undermines this all-powerful entity makes good on a certain contradiction.

So, while mere logic cannot prove the existence of anything, we have undeniable acknowledge that something exists.

    4. Vj ~ But this is the only logic doing it so far.

Then logic can help us to determine whether it is finite or infinite.

    5. Vj ~ Well let's apply it to the Bible. Since eternal means "that which has neither a beginning and nor an ending" as God is, Christians (souls) who are created are finite and therefore cannot become eternal since they have a beginning. Doesn't this disqualify eternity or eternal heaven?

Therefore, mere logic cannot prove the existence of anything.

    6. Vj ~ You'd be surprised! It proves the existence of atheists. Logic, therefore, is a path one must travel to reject false religion, if one is desirable of obtaining one's own evidence of what exists. Besides, a Christian is totally void of logic (static intellect), how would it be possible for him/her to prove what exists or not?

Because God is Spirit, conclusions about the ultimate beginnings of the universe need to be drawn from the created world and God's actions within it.

    7. Vj ~ And how would one brought up by an ape draw these conclusions from the created world and God's action within it.?

Here in the created world, the evidence for God's "eternal power and Godhead (divine nature)" is so overwhelming that belief in Him is the only reasonable option.

    8. Vj ~ Isn’t pain and suffering in this world overwhelming that it is reasonable to believe that the "belief in Him" has its flaws also?

While some aspects of God's nature--for example, His holiness and love--have been obscured by the Fall.

    9. Vj ~ True, all aspects of God's Nature, attributes and characteristics have been obscured by false dogmas with Christianity leading the way.

It is disbelief in God's existence and power that is irrational, not belief.

    10. Vj ~ Disbelief is the result of something (revelation) with no logic or reasoning and better proven by the fact that the majority in pain and misery are believers. It is better to be an atheist, than a hypocrite. There is nothing wrong in “disbelief” with the honest and impartial intent of making prudent inquires. But those who have relegated themselves to a belief system are in a bind because they readily accept without further inquires.

To assume that the universe is just a cosmic accident goes against the grain of everything we experience.

    11. Vj ~ So is the Biblical account that it was created from nothing.

Everything that we have ever encountered with our senses has a cause -- why not the universe?

    12. Vj ~ And like an idiot you make statement that neither you nor the Bible have a rational answer for. If there is a cause for this creation, why weren't there others for previous creations?

The eternal God is transcendent, not part of creation.

    13. Vj ~ If He is transcendent and not part of His creation how would it possible for Him to sustain it or dispense justice?

God's existence cannot be "proven" in the way that science can prove or disprove a fact about the material world.

    14. Vj ~ Science can do better than the Bible in proving the existence of God. It was a Scientist (Einstein) who came to reason by science that God is a subtle spirit, and never anthropomorphic (Jesus), best experienced by the mystic.

We are spiritual beings, created in God's image, aware of our own existence, and capable of choice.

    15. Vj ~ God has no image He is a subtle spirit and pervades all. Again what choice did your God leave Cain when human race descended from him and his sister (incest)?

If we choose to believe that there is no God and that the universe is just a fantastically complex accident, our choice will inevitably lead to the conclusion that life is absurd and without meaning.

    16. Vj ~ It is still better that the meaning Christians give to life by misleading the innocent to follow blindly?

To live without meaning is a hopeless struggle at best, and always ends in despair.

    17. Vj ~ Pastor John until now feels he is living a life with meaning, but yet his stroke speaks of despair. What went wrong? Blind faith!

To summarize: A typical formulation of the argument. The universe manifests evidence of design. All design demands a designer (which entails x, y, and z characteristics). Therefore, the universe must have a designer.

    18. Vj ~ And where have I indicated otherwise? If there is a designer He must be an intelligent one and not a magician or an idiot as the Bible depicted Him to be.

This designer is the God of the Bible.

    19. Vj ~ I am aware that your God can do anything, but how could He have designed something created nearly 2 billion years old (in harmony with science) , just 6,000 years ago?

This has to do with the "burden of proof" issue: namely, that the Christian need show no more proof for his position than anyone else.

    20. Vj ~ What proofs can be provided based on any belief system that lacks reasoning? His irrational, inconsistent and sometimes lawless behaviors make it more difficult to prove that he is God, muchless His existence.

It is even possible that the presuppositions are not clear to the one that holds them.

    21. Vj ~ Very true, and this is why I stress on ingraining good reasoning habits and the the proper use of logic.

Everyone does have certain presuppositions, no matter what their world view.

    22. Vj ~ Again, the result is the lack of the proper guidance of the correct knowledge.
    Dialogue 38

    Hello Kathy - March 13, 1999
So if Plato has some influence on your sect of religion that would make your claim that your religion was originated much latter than you earlier suggested.
    1. Vj ~ The eternal Vedas is the source of all true knowledge (ethics, morals and sciences) and it existed, in its entirety, from the very beginning of creation for all of mankind. Whatever these philosophers knew and whatever brought Christianity out of the era barbarism and tyanny, the Vedic religion was the source.

as far as I can calculate the "Vedas" is a religious sect out dated by Hinduism.

    2. Vj ~ Wow! excellent, you have truly learnt a lot. What more can I teach such a brilliant mind, that it is still way older than your Bible?

The only part of this sect that remains is some ancient hymns.

    3. Vj ~ Wow! Fantastic, another amazing thought!

That leads me to ask, is there a site online that has printed these hymns for others to view?

    4. Vj ~ Try this one which is sung daily by even the young aryan children; and if you figure it out I will give you the rest.
OM RITANCHA SAT-YANCHAA BHEED DHAAT-TAPASO 'DHYA-JAAYATA TATO RAATR-YA-JAAYAA TATAH SAMUDRO ARNAVAH.

By God's comand His nature brought to light The principles and the atoms of this earth, Then came chaos and heat and motion bright, And then the waves of ocean got their birth.

Meaning - In the beginning, the Cosmic laws were first generated to govern the order in which the universe had to be created; and then, the universe itself became manifest, all through the conscious Creative Will-force of God. After each cycle of creation, there follows a grand dissolution of all created things, resulting in total darkness. When this prolonged period of dissolution comes to an end, a new cycle of creation begins, with atomic particles (matter) becoming agitated in one big ocean-like mass.

Further, what is in these hymns that could possibly be of so much importance. Do they record the times of beginning? If not, what do they record? Where are these hymns recorded, what part of the world? What time frame? How are they recorded, via chisel and stone or papyrus? Who took the incentive to record them? Are there commentaries on these hymns

    5. Vj ~ The Vedas is the source of all knowledge known to man. The language (Sanskrit) itself is the mother of all languages. In the beginning there were no written language, all knowledge were disseminated orally and the Rishis of yore retained them by memory through out the ages for the purpose of disseminating. When man began to fall massively from righteousness the need existed to put it in writing for future inquires.

Is there any scientific evidence to back up the dating and authenticity? Are there any archeological findings that have preserved the true origin of this sect? Further, please don't give me web site addresses to information that includes chanting. I'm only interested in facts, preaching is not a criteria.

    6. Vj ~ As I said before where there is wisdom there is no need for history or science to prove it to be so. History and science have also proven the Bible false, but yet it did not deter you from your belief in it. I can give you all the information you requested but it will be useless. The Vedas was for thousands of years being misused, misinterpreted and misunderstood. This gave birth to Hinduism, which led to all other false worship. Reasoning is the first step and you have to be taught, so start here and fire away.

    Hello Kathy - March 14, 1999 - Re-post #160
Fear God and keep his commandments, for this is the whole duty of man.
    1. Vj ~ It is rather a very erroneous statement of God. Is this how you were brought up as a child to fear your parents? Besides, didn't man before Moses (Ten commandments) had any duty?

For God will bring every deed into judgment, including every hidden thing, whether it is good or evil.

    2. Vj ~ How could every deed be brought to judgment when some or all deeds, depending on time of repentance, can be forgiven?
Revelation is a communication of something which the person to whom the thing is revealed did not know before. For if I have done, a thing, or seen it done, it needs no Revelation to tell me, I have done or seen it done nor enable me to tell it or write. Revelation therefore cannot be applied to anything done upon earth, of which man is himself actor or witness and consequently all the historical part of the Bible which is almost the whole of it, is not within the meaning and compass of the word Revelation and therefore is not the Word of God." Thomas Paine
A true test for your intelligence. Your response is irrelevant to the quotation above. You have made no attempt to disapprove it and so the contents of your posts are all nonsense and not within reason.
      Here are a few rebuttals:-
and the day of death better than the day of birth.
    3. Vj ~ So why don't Christians rejoice on the day of death and mourn on the day of birth?

Sorrow is better than laughter, because a sad face is good for the heart.

    4. Vj ~ On the contrary, laughter is the best medicine ask any pro.

The heart of the wise is in the house of mourning,

    5. Vj ~ Since God is the wisest, He is always in mourning. A God that is unhappy cannot make anyone happy.

In this meaningless life of mine I have seen both of these: a righteous man perishing in his righteousness, and a wicked man living long in his wickedness.

    6. Vj ~ The wicked would love such a God, if both them and righteous reap the same rewards.

There is not a righteous man on earth who does what is right and never sins.

    7. Vj ~ Right! so that leaves all women righteous and sinless.

Whatever wisdom may be, it is far off and most profound-- who can discover it?

    8. Vj ~ Certainly not an idiot-Christian who has already been given a promise of salvation.

Who can straighten what he has made crooked?

    9. Vj ~ Doesn’t look very good for the crooked (crouched) Pope?

Do not be quickly provoked in your spirit, for anger resides in the lap of fools.

    10. Vj ~ Indeed, a true reflection of the Christian god.

Wisdom, like an inheritance, is a good thing and benefits those who see the sun.

    11. Vj ~ My heart certainly goes out to the blind.

    Hello Kathy - March 15, 1999
Vj, I think we have a communication problem here.
    1. Vj ~ There has been a communication problem since the birth of the Bible.

You know I've got to admire your easy going sense of humor and dilegence to continue.

    2. Vj ~ The fruit indeed, of true knowledge.

You would be a wonderful Christian, if you were willing. And I would be so proud of you.

    3. Vj ~ It is better to be proud of a wise man, than a fool. I am giving you an opportunity now.

I might even catch up to you. But then that wouldn't be much fun! Would it?

    4. Vj ~ Maybe not now, but when you do clear the bugs away from your mat, some light may enter and you can be on your way.

      Hello Kathy - March 16, 1999
Reputation for piety and honesty is more desirable than all the wealth and pleasure in this world

    5. Vj ~ Tell that to your wealthy evangelistic hypocrites. Reputation for wisdom should be first desirable and then piety and honesty.

It is better to have our corruptions mortified by the rebuke of the wise,

    6. Vj ~ I couldn't have said it any better. When will you listen to me Kathy?

Wisdom teaches us not to be quick in resenting affronts.

    7. Vj ~ Good for those who are quickly offended by insults

When any harm is done to us, examine whether we have not done as bad to others.

    8. Vj ~ Persecutions, crusaders and the inquisitions - ring a bell!

      Many a godly man can with thankfulness acknowledge that he has found a prudent, virtuous woman in the wife of his bosom;

    9. Vj ~ Even better the Godliest of all men would have no need for a wife.

therefore only thing to do is to enjoy this life cheerfully, and use it as profitably as possible

    10. Vj ~ Only a fool enjoys life, with the uncertainty of its origin (where he/she came from) and its destination (where he/she is going).

      Hello Kathy - March 18, 1999
It's not tradition. The Bible is the most picked over and envestaged book of all history!

    11. Vj ~ That does not speak of wisdom which is on the decline, but ignorance. The Q'uran is the next best seller. Put the two together and all the atrocities, tyranny, barbarism, inquisitions and persecutions that took place for the last 5,000 years raises their ugly heads. This is history and cannot be denied.

If the writings didn't have a valid claim to authenticity, we would have most likely gotten that out of the way by now.

    12. Vj ~ God help those who rely on it as such, it didn't bring peace in the beginning and by that there is no guarantee that it can do the same for the future. In this case it is better to trust a religion which has no such history.
