Well, for those of you who already know me, boy, have I got news for you! *smile*The children and I moved, we are now in Kelowna, B.C. They are doing good and so am I. And yes, I am now free! Woohoo!!! (got to keep a sense of humour about these things) *grin*
Seriously though, life is looking pretty good. It's beautiful here in the mountians. We live on Mt. Boucherie. The fruit trees, the weather and all that jazz is great....But Saskatchewan is still home sweet home! *grin*
What do I miss the most about SK? Other family & friends, it's got to be the sunrises & sunsets. Just a simple, yet beautiful moment that happens everyday. Here in B.C. well you can see the clouds change colour, but that's it....Guess you can't have it all! *smile*
Well, I suppose that is all for today. Take Care & Brightest Blessings to All.
I wrote the following in 1998:
This is my babbling page, it will give you an idea of who I am, what I believe in and all that jazz. I can hear those yawns already, and yes, I noticed the sudden decrease in oxygen in the cyber room.{smile} So, if this sounds a wee bit too boring, just jump around within this site, as I hope you do find something of interest to you! : ) And, to the others, I bid you welcome!
My Wiccan name is Luna. I know it is a simple and plain name; however, as with most names, it means alot to the person who carries it. I am a Solitary Witch and have been Pagan all of my life. I was brought up with an interesting blend of cultures and belief systems. I distinguish Paganism and Wicca as being put this way: every Witch is Pagan But not every Pagan is a Witch. To me, Paganism loosely covers a broad range of Earth-based religions and/or belief systems, whether it be Druid, Wicca/Wicce, Shamanism and so on. As I stated earlier, I am a Witch and have been Pagan all of my life. That does, however, not mean, that I have been a Witch all of my life. I came into contact with Wicca over five years ago. Since then, I have learned a great deal and have so very much more to learn. Regardless of how old we are, there is always more to learn and to remember. For those who were wondering what belief system I lived, prior to Witchcraft, I followed the trad teachings of the Cree and Saulteaux (Plains Ojibwa)tribes of Canada. These teachings were passed down through my mom's side of the family. As well, there is a Celtic influence on my mom's side too. My Dad is Austrian/German, which is one reason why I was so attracted to the Germanic Runes. I have always respected and honored ALL of my ancestors. I am as much Scottish as I am Cree and so forth. So, when I "stumbled upon" Wicca/Wicce, I felt as though I have finally come "Home." I realize that may sound weird but that's the way it felt like. If my native teachings were a hand, Wicca is the glove which keeps it warm. The family teachings that were taught were not so different than that of Wicca/ Witchcraft. I respect the fact that there are people who may disagree with me, that is fine. However, to me, these belief systems are very similar and it works for me. Plain and simple. How are these belief systems similar? Well, for starters, both systems revere Mother Earth. Both systems cherish and respect the gift of life, whether it be plant, the two- leggeds, the four-leggeds, the swimmers, plants etc. Both belief systems associate the Moon to be a female sourceof power.Likewise, both sytems, associate the Sun to be a male source of power. Both systems regard the Earth as their Mother. Both systems recognize the sacredness of the circle. Both systems use various methods of divination, chanting, magick and medicines. Both systems work their "magick" or their "medicine" by tuning into the energies around them and by working with that energy (as well as your own personal energy) to bring about changes. Both systems recognize the four directions. This list can go on and on. There are those, who may strongly disagree with what I have written here. I just want to stress, that these are just MY thoughts and opinions. To each their own. Whew! That was some sermon huh! {laughing} I apologize, as that is not how I intended to come across. Now that I have bored you to tears, let's continue on with the agony. *smile* We like travelling, going to and participating in Pow-wow's, watching movies, playing board games, visiting family & friends, clowning around, hiking, canoeing, camping, gathering herbs/plants etc. Besides all the things I like to do with my kids, I also like reading, writing poetry, beadwork, various types of crafts, surfing the net, collecting all sorts of things ( I am such a pack-rat, a very sentimental pack-rat, I keep just about everything that anyone has ever given to me.), pen-palling, making bath oils, bath salts, massage oils & candles and lotsa other things. Well, for now, I think I'll bring this to a close. I never realized just how much I can ramble!! If you ever met me in person, you would wonder at how shy I can be. Well, in cyberland, my shyness disappears! Until next time, take care! Blessed Be! Luna
