CASABLANCA

Summary

Casablanca 1942, refugees (who escaped from the nazis) wait to get away to America. Richard Blaine (played by Humphrey Bogart ) is an American nightclub owner. Charming and little bit sardonic, Bogart played this character as he played "tough guys". Ingrid Bergman stars as Bogart's lost love and wife to freedom fighter Victor Laszlo (played by Paul Henreid ). Her husband, the unremitting resistance fighter Viktor Laszlo is sincere, reliant and resolute but the only person who could help them to get to America is Richard Blaine...

Casablanca was directed by Michael Curtiz. He was known as one of the best movie directors belonging to the Film noir genre. Curtiz won for Casablanca an academy award (the Oscar) for the best director. The movie itself took the most important award: the Oscar of the best picture.

May be you know all these things, but did you know that Casablanca was not shot in Casablanca????? And the most unbelievable thing is that the picture shown in the begining of the movie is not from Casablanca but from Tangier (North of Morocco)!!!
