BioRythms

What does a biologist listen too?
BioRythyms!

What am I listening to today? There are links to  CD-now, where you can buy the CDs, for some of the bands/artists and  albums here.

May 15 , 1998:

My biochemistry final was this morning...YIKES!  Boy was it tough!  My classmates and I have been together for a  year now.  I'll miss them.

To unwind,  after a long nap, I'm listening to Joan Osborne.

May 5 , 1998:
Today's weather report?  Well, it's awfully wet out there.  The rain's comming down hard, and there's thunder bouncing off all the hills.  May not sound bad, but San Francisco doesn't get thunder and Lightening much.

May 2 , 1998:
Major Tom, this is ground control. . .can you hear me Major Tom?  Is it a song , or just  life?  David Bowe, now that's an orbital personality and talent.  He gives 'Freak' a good name, and has made it an artform.

It's been a LONG day.  We hosted the West Coast Biological Sceinces  Undergraduate Research conference today.  I was hoping to present my research, but things don't always work out as you plan.  I met a lot of interesting people.  I was particularly impressed by Hillary Protas. She had two poster presentations, my favorite was on her "mathematical Modeling of a Glutamatergic Synapse". . . very COOL stuff, trust me.

blackbird. . .paul sings so sweetly...are you waiting to be free?  Just spread your wings, and fly.

Oh, oh! The new Dave Mathews is on the radio now!  gotta go :-)

April 27, 1998:

A third day of beautiful sunshine, but I have to study.  So, I've got the radio tuned to KFOG.  What's the connection?  I don't know, but I felt like listening to the radio today.  Stevy Ray Vaugn ... Dire Straits ... don't let me down (Beatles)...One of us(Joan Osborne).. . . I't much later in the day now, more like close to midnight, and  St Teresa is playing.  So,, I've got to listen to Joan Osborn now.

April 6, 1998:

Sgt. Rock is gonna help me get through Respectable Street  without Loosing my Temper. . .it's just one of those days ;-)
Yeah, it's time for XTC's Black Sea.

April 4, 1998:

Remmember School House Rock?  Well, I couldn't resist popping the the compilation CD of covers of Saturday morning  cartoon breaks.  It's hard to narrow it down to just one, but I'd say my favorite is "Conjunction Junction".

If I ever get through to Microsoft and manage to download IE 4.01 I should be able to put these updates on the site.  It's looking pretty dismal right now...long story.

March 25, 1998:

Well, the cruel fact is that Spring Break is over,  and I am once again overwhelmed by my studies.  But that doesn't mean that  I'm not listening to music.  The last few days, I've been listening to a mix of Motown tunes in the car...I sing along to avoid stress ...I'd like to see you try to drive around San Francisco and remain calm at all times.  ;-)....any way, one of the CDs I've been listening to today is by a band called Jump with Joey.  You might call them a ska band with a twist of Latin jazz, if you must stick a label on them.

March 13, 1998

It's Friday the 13th!!!!  I took two exams today, one in Biochemistry and one in Linear Algebra...it was rough.  But it's sunny outside and I had luch at Cha Cha Cha's! :-)

Call me crazy, but I had the uncontrollable urge to listen to Muddy Waters.  In a strange way, it sort of fits with the sounds of construction outside...and I keep typing in rythm ;-)

February 28, 1998:

It's Finally Saturyday!!! And it's Sunny!!!!
