Happy Birthday to all 1983 Cabbage Patch Kids!
Yes it's true, the 1983 Coleco CPK's
celebrated their 16th birthday on September 1st. So if you haven't done so, please
hug and wish your 1983 CPK a very HAPPY BIRTHDAY!
The latest Mattel cpk line is showing up in most stores, you can find out more information by contacting Babyland at 706-865-2171 or visiting your local retailer (Target, Walmart, TRU, K-Mart). Some of the latest cpk's you will find are the following:
Millenium Kids: What a way to start off the new millenium with your very own Cabbage Patch Millenium kid! They come in various styles and skin tones. These cute little babies come packaged and ready to celebrate the new MILLENIUM!
Baby's First Haircut: Using special scissors that come with the First Haircut kids, you can magically cut their hair! They come in a variety of skin tones.

E-doption Kids: CPK's you can adopt online! Each kid is dressed in the latest fashion, comes with an ID card, keychain, and either a backpack or purse. There are 4 different themes you can choose from. You can select a kid who likes to take care of the earth, go out places, play soccer, or my personal favorite, collect Barbie dolls. This
months' featured CPK collector is: Rachel Campbell ! She is the owner
of New Leaf Garden Sprouts.
I met Rachel online about a two years ago. She help me out on some CPK terminology
when I first got into collecting them. She is super nice and takes great
pictures. NOTE:
Note: CPKS = Cabbage Patch Kids SSK= Soft Sculpture Kids
Let's read more about Rachel:
DM: How long have you been collecting cpks or SSk?
R: I have been collecting CPKs
for two years
DM: What got you into collecting cpks or SSk?
R: I don't have many SSK, but I have about 10. I got my first
one at a
thrift store, and fell in love with her. I have gotten a few more since then.
DM: How many cpks or SSk do you have in your collection?
R: I don't really know how many CPKs I have. I keep getting
more in, and
getting rid of some. I would have to say a couple hundred.
DM: Which cpk or SSk is your most favorite?
R: My favorite CPK would probably have to be my very
first one, Karlen Gene.
She is very preloved, and not in the greatest condition, but she is my first, and I will
always love her the most.
DM: Where do you get the majority of your cpks or SSk?
R: I get the majority of my CPKs from eBay.
DM:. What was your greatest find of all time?
R: I have found a lot of great finds, but I think the one
that I was happiest about is my black freckled kid. I got him from ebay, and he cost me
over $600, but I had waited for him for a year and a half. He is probably the one that I
am most proud of.
Thank you Rachel, for being this month's Featured CPK Collector! You can visit Rachel and view her wonderful kids and website at: New Leaf Garden Sprouts
