Whoa! Who says that tree planting in urban areas is not such a rewarding activity? A non-governmental organization, TPG-MNS (Tree Planting Group-Malaysian Nature Society) has proved it!

During the National Landscape Day celebration that was held in March 1999, the federal government awarded the organization with a Certificate of Excellence in Tree Planting in recognition of its active role in urban tree planting.

The TPG-MNS is an organization consisting of MNS, International Real Estate Federation (FIABCI), Persatuan Penilai dan Perunding Harta Swasta Malaysia, Lions Club of Kuala Lumpur, OneEarth Enterprise Sdn. Bhd., the Forest Research Institute of Malaysia (FRIM), the Department of Environment, and the National Landscape Department, in collaboration with the Ministry of Housing and Local Government.

In continuing such an activity, this organization has pledged to plant and nurture 15,000 trees over the next two years at parks, schools, riversides, and other suitable areas under the Gift of Trees Program.

Congratulations to TPG-MNS, and keep up the good work!
