State Awards

At the Arkansas Society Daughters of the American Revolution State Conference
in Little Rock March 11-13, the Clarksville Chapter won several awards.

*State Chapter Achievement Award-Gold
*Commemorative Event Committee- Outstanding Community Event which included activities from the Clarksville Sesquicentennial. Dayna Hilton, Chair
*Flag of the United States of America Committee- Best All-Around Chapter Community Flag Event, which included the Flag Retirement Ceremony on Flag Day in 1998. The Flag Retirement Ceremony was chaired by Dayna Hilton, and the Clarksville Chapter Flag of the United States of America Committee is chaired by Ruby Young Coffman.
*American History Committee- The chapter received this award for its Sesquicentennial Seal Design Contest. The Seal Design contest was chaired by Dayna Hilton, and the Clarksville Chapter American History Committee is chaired by Billie King.
*American Indian Committee Award- Outstanding American Indian Activities. Laura Spitler, Chair.
*Literacy Challenge Committee- This committee presented the chapter with the Literacy Challenge Award and the chair of this committee is Lorraine Belote.
*1999 Arkansas Outstanding Junior was awarded to Clarksville Chapter Junior Member, Dayna Trembley Hilton *Volunteer Information Specialist Committee Award went to Dayna Trembley Hilton for the development of 49 Arkansas Chapter webpages.

*NSDAR Chapter with the Most New Junior Members.
Clarksville Chapter received Honorable Mention (States with 36-55 chapters).
*NSDAR's Junior Membership Committee, Second Place for the Chapter with the Greatest Number of New Juniors.
*NSDAR Level 1 Chapter Achievement Award for 1997-1998,
which is the highest award a chapter can receive.


The Chapter Achievement Award is based on a point count method. The total points a chapter scores will result in Level One, Level Two, or Level Three. The more a chapter strives to accomplish the goals of the National Society Daughters of the American Revolution, the more points it will receive. Previous to 1996, chapters were awarded the Gold and Silver Honor Roll.
