Some Helpful Terms

A complete Rosary is a full fifteen decades reciting all fifteen mysteries.  This is preferred; however, time constraints, and perhaps saying the Rosary with your small children allows only for a Rosary of five decades.  This is considered acceptable.  One should try to say at least a five decade Rosary comprising of one set of Mysteries a day.

A Decade is One Mystery, The Our Father, ten Hail Marys, The Glory Be and The Fatima Prayer.  Sometimes it helps to say one decade during a stressful moment or when one has a few minutes.

A Mystery is a reflection of an aspect of the lives of Jesus and his beloved Mother.
Some Other Thoughts

Some people have variations they make to their personal Rosary meditation to help make it more meaningful to them.  Some pray The Memorare before beginning the Rosay.  Some dedicate each one of the first three Hail Marys to a specific intention such as: The Holy Father, An end to abortion, The souls in Pergutory, Peace in a warring nation, conversion of sinners, or a private intention.  Some Pray the St. Michael's prayer after the Salve Regina or another approriate prayer.
