Breast Cancer will affect 1 out of 9 women in the United States. Breast Cancer is the most common form of cancer in women in this country. Breast Cancer will touch your life somehow it is unavoidable...unless we can find a cure.
My Grandmother was diagnosed with Breast Cancer in 1990. Her cancer was detected very late. She had not done self exams. She had a radical mastectomy of one breast and then later had to have the other one removed as well. She died in 1991 because the cancer had spread. Early detection is SO important!!

Phenomenal research is being done but there is so much more we need to learn. Research requires money and money is raised through awareness and commitment. Everyone needs to be committed to finding a cure for this disease. Not just women....men are affected as well..by losing their mothers, sisters, wives. We all must work towards a cure.

As a woman you can take steps to make yourself more aware of Breast Cancer.
1. Self Exam done once a month, several days after your menstrual cycle, or after menopause-the same day every month.
2. Annual mammograms beginning at age 40.
3. An annual breast exam by a doctor.

The five year survival rate, after treatment, for early stage Breast Cancer is 97%. Many irregularites are found early by women doing self exams. Like the saying goes... Just Do It!!

Below you will find links to Breast Cancer Sites on the web. These sites will tell you about research, self exams, mammograms, support groups, and personal survival stories. I hope that this site will help someone to get motivated, find support and join the crusade.
