Peek A Boo

CAT WATCHING TIP

Our cat's daily routine probably coincides with and, in some cases, depends on our schecule. Our cat awakens when we do, goes to bed when we do, eats when we provide food, and goes out when we decide it is time. As they learn our routine, they pick up on signals, especially when the payoff is food or warmth.
Does your cat jump up on your bed to snuggle in for the night when it sees or hears you get into bed? Or maybe it is already there when you turn in for the night, having heard you turn off the TV or run the water to brush your teeth?
Perhaps he or she comes running when they hear the can opener. Maybe even they anticipate breakfast when you turn on the coffee-maker or get out of the shower in the morning. Amazing arn't they!

Wheeeeeee!
CURIOSITY

Curiosity may have killed the cat, but it's also what leads it to learn more about its enviornment and get what it wants. Show your cat what is in a full milk bottle. Then, after tightly sealing the bottle, leave the cat alone in the room with it. There will be lots of looking, then some sniffing, followed by some clawing and pawing, which will probably result in the bottle falling onto its side and the cat jumping back in surprise. Once it has recovered, the cat will again approach the bottle, this time more cautiously. Although the cat is interested in the entire bottle, it will likely focus its actions on the lid because it learned when you showed it the milk that that's how your get to it.

OOPS!

CAT WATCHING TIP

The next time your cat raises its hackles in an apparently quiet house, check more closely for the noise you didn't hear. Because cats' senses are so much more attuned than humans', it's likely that your cat actually has felt, seen, smelled,or heard something that interests it.
Go check it out. Your cat's whiskers may have felt a slight draft, maybe from a small crack in your walls that you've never noticed. Maybe it saw movement, something fast and minute. Maybe it smelled another cat or some other creature outside, somewhere on its territory. Or maybe its ears picked up on a high-pitched noise from the animal kingdom.

Come Play With Me

PLAY

Play remains an important part of life for many cats, even well into their later years. Kittens, of course, are the most active and persistent in their activities, but nearly every cat, even the most sedate, will play from time to time.

Below are included some graphics I thought you might enjoy, especially if you are a cat owner. Please do not remove the graphics from the page, as they may be found at any of the three links listed at the bottom of my page. These are great sites to check into for cat graphics. Hope you enjoy.

CAT WATCHING TIP

When cats drink water, they generally take four or five laps before they swallow. Don't worry if your cat doesn't seem to drink enough from the water bowl. Cats sometimes like to drink in privacy, and they are good at finding other sources of water. Daily intake of wet food also satisfies some of their fluid needs.

PURRRRRRRING
Humans have interpreted purring as a cat's communication of its contentment, a meaning which is sometimes debated. Purring is vibration, not only sound, and newly born blind kittens use it as a homing device to find their mothers.

CATNIP
Cats generally don't respond positively to catnip until they are three months old. In fact, a cat may avoid it during its first two months of life. Some cats never like catnip, do don't be disappointed if your pet is uninterested. Chalk it up to feline preference.

CARE

Cats cost very little to feed and care for compared to many other popular pets. A cat can fit into the smallest apartment, and is a good choice for a working owner because it doesn't require round-the-clock attention.

Let's Get Together

CLAWS
The loss of a cat's claws can affect its balance. If your declawed pet lives in an apartment above the ground floor, make sure open windows are screened. In fact, all windows should be screened, whether your pet is clawed or not.

ADOPT A CAT
June is National Adopt-A-Cat Month. In 1866, the ASPCA became America's first humaine society. Today many animal shelters have lovable stray cats waiting for homes. If you can't add another companion to your home, consider making a donation.

Gosh, I don't feel so good!

To the rescue!!!

I'm Watching You

Gotcha

Oh No,Where Do I Go From Here?

Okay,I Know You're In There!

CATS AND TECHNOLOGY

Looks Like It's Time For A Nap

NAPPIN

Based on physiological evidence, it appears that cats dream and have the same sort of brain activity during sleep that is associated with dreaming in human beings. The real question is, what do they dream about?

Whoops! Looks like I am really in trouble now. Oh, well!

The best place for the litter box is one where the cat will be undisturbed, and not too close to food and water bowls. The layer of cat litter should be about 2 inches deep in the box.

PLEASE KEEP ME HAPPY AND HEALTHY BY KEEPING THE YOU KNOW WHAT CLEAN AND CHANGING MY BOX OFTEN. THANKS

Below are some of the really nice cat pictures I have found while browsing around the net. Thought I would share with you in case you have not seen them.

Below are some quotes that I have found very true and many times very amusing, in regard to our wonderful friend the cat.

"Dogs come when they're called; cats take a message and get back to you much later." Mary Bly

"People that hate cats, will come back as mice in their next llife." Faith Resnick

"Time spent with cats is never wasted."Colette

"I got rid of my husband. The cat was allergic."

"My husband said it was him or the cat...I miss him sometimes."

"Cats aren't clean, they're just covered with cat spit."

Here are our cats Annie and Patches again, that you met from our homepage. Hope you enjoy meeting the other two members of our family.
