Baxter is a very entertaining guy. Keeps ya in stitches all the time. All of his poems and stories are rated (PC) Pretty Cowy.
BJ wanted him to sign his t-shirt so, Bax grabbed him by the scruff of the neck and his britches, hauled him up on the table face down, crawled up ontop of the table, put his foot lightly on BJ's neck and started writing. This was in the middle of Sheplers Western Store, the radio people there were giving a play by play, and crowd just started roarin. BJ was havin a ball. He still has the shirt, even though he has out grown it, He still has a very fond memory of that day.
This ia a Beaverslide. It is used for stacking loose hay in the fields. After the hay is cut, it is gathered up with a buckrake and piled onto the beaverslide. When the slide is full on the one side, the pile is tipped over into a huge stack. Alot of places in Southwestern Montana still use this method and its fun to watch them work.
This is the cabin in Montana I spend most of the summers riding the High Country.Only has 3 rooms in it,have to haul the water from the river down off to the left, an old fashion cook stove and barrel stove for heat. No electricity and the facilities are across the road and behind the barn.
Nice getaway if ya want no phones, tv or any modern conveniences. It's set in the Rockie Mountains up South Boulder Canyon. It was my back yard as I was growing up.
One of the trails up home we ride in the hi country. It goes up to bout 9000 ft, winding thru the trees and many switchbacks. Can spot deer, mountain sheep, elk, and even an occasional moose along the way.
Arkansas picnic swing. Jim's GrandDad invented it. A horse powered swing. The much larger version was transported to county fairs and picnics by wagon. This smaller one can be seen at the Ozark Folk Center in Mountain View,Arkansas.
see the facilities are a long way from the cabin. :)
