Sue's Quilting Buz

My Quilting Hobby

These quilts were machine pieced and quilted on the Singer 6268, Featherweight, the Singer treadle, and the Pfaff 1214.
My 1st completed pieced quilt: Jacob's Ladder for my son,
Jacob, for his dorm at LSU in 1994.
I made this quilt for a baby gift in 1995 called Kitty Love
This one is called Cats in the Corner.
I made it in about a day in March 98
This is the Irish Chain in crib size and very easy but beautiful
I used the Quilt in a Day method. I made it under 8 hours in March1998.

Another Irish Chain  Baby Quilt
Pillow Quilt-made by my Mom April 98.
I made this quilt, Triple Irish Chain, for Tracey and Dawn as a wedding gift. I pieced the top on the featherweight then quilted and added the lace with the Pfaff 1214. I had my mom embroidery on her Janome 5000 the date of my son's wedding on one of the blocks. This quilt has made use of several machine's abilities, as you can see, it was worth the work. They are enjoying it in their new home.
I made Lucy, my daughter, a set of quilts for her bunk bed. A twin size for the top and full size for the bottom bunk. I also made 2 pillows for each bed from the Hidden Wells pattern.

My Collection of Sewing Machines

Janome Memory Craft 10001

This is my newest machine. I went to a sewing conference in Alabama sponsored by Ken's Sewing and Vacuum Center in October of 2003. I really have enjoyed it. I liked it so well that I talked mom into getting one, too

Babylock Esente II

I got this machine for Christmas 1999. It has been great. I've enjoyed sewing/embroidering on this wonder. It has a needle threader and even cuts the thread for you. It is really easy to operate. But it has taken a back seat to a newbie. It's for sale if you're interested. Check out all the great features on the Babylock website. Babylock Esente II

Pfaff 1214

great for quilting-formerly mom's! Thanks mom!

Singer Touch & Sew

I learned to sew on a Singer Touch and Sew.
Recently, my sister reclaimed mom's machine that I learned to sew on. So I had the Touch and Sew Singer 638 machine I picked up at a garage sale restored with new gears and have been sewing with it some. It sews great. Recently I've picked up a couple of accessories for it on Yahoo and Ebay auctions.(A circular sewing adapter and a professional buttonholer.)

The Singer Featherweight

2 Singer 221 Featherweights. One is a Centennial Edition.
They weigh only 11lbs1oz-great for travel-sewing classes-quilting B's.

I completely  pieced a Triple Irish Chain on my Centennial Featherweight. It was a wedding gift for Tracey and Dawn for their wedding, April 10, 1999.

Singer Treadle Class 66

My husband, Jackie, and I completed restoration of this machine in 1998.
Tracey, my son, gave this to me for Christmas a couple of years earlier.
He got it from a friend who was cleaning out a storage shed.
It's birthday is January 18, 1912.  The quilt, Lover's Knot, was completely pieced and quilted on this treadle machine in 1998. No.66 Sewing Machine Manual
