---[ TIMOTHY DALTON ]---
Having been exposed
to this years 13 DAYS OF 007 on SUPERSTAION TBS the week that TOMORROW NEVER
DIES opens has reminded me why Timothy Dalton is my
favorite of all the Bonds. His portrayal of superspy James Bond in THE
LIVING DAYLIGHTS has been my most favorite characterization of the character.
But Mr. Dalton is much more skilled than just playing a cold blooded killer
though.
He was recently in THE BEAUTICIAN AND THE BEAST where he played a wildly
funny and over-the-top character, a domineering dictator of a nation. While
not having seen most of his films I do realize he has an extensive background
in TV and film dating back to 1966. He's a Shakesperean actor too. I always
saw Tim as Patrick Stewart, only with hair. They look alot alike if you
ever bother to compare them. If a Trek movie is ever made when the producers
wanna show Jean-Luc Picard before he went bald, Timothy Dalton would be the
man to call. JC would do well to hire Timothy I think because Tim is such
a class act, he could probably bring a lot more legitimacy to a film than
most other people could. But the role would have to be right. I think that
maybe Tim couldn't play a character like Nada from THEY LIVE, but he could
probably parody his British ancestry similar to the way Kurt Russell lampooned
John Wayne in BTILC.
So do you think Timothy Dalton is a good choice? Do you agree or disagree with me? Let me know what you think. If you want to see a particular person appear in a John Carpenter film let me know who it is and I'll start up another page dedicated to actors that viewers of this site want to see in a JC film.
