---[ Richard E. Grant ]---
Doesn't he look like a cross between Brent Spiner and Robert Patrick? You know,
Data from STAR TREK: THE NEXT GENERATION and the liquid metal guy from
TERMINATOR 2: JUDGEMENT DAY? Unlike those two, this pages choice for an
actor in the wishlist, Richard E. Grant, came to the forefront of my
appreciation after I saw him in the enjoyable film WARLOCK. He played a
rough and rougish witch hunter in the 20th century. Under all of the dirt,
grime, and grue I saw Richards talent and thought he'd fit perfectly in a JC
film. The most striking thing about Richard is his eyes. He has a piercing
stare that can melt steel, just like Robert Patrick. His stately film career
show he is a man of the arts in the truest sense. He's played in a lot of
Victorian themed stuff (THE AGE OF INNOCENCE, etc.) but is not below playing
the harried and harangued manager of the Spice Girls in their very own film
SPICEWORLD. JC would have a ball with Richard because Richard can do so much:
action, comedy, drama, easily! His unconventional looks and relative
obscurity in Hollywood make him a perfect candidate for a role in a JC film.
Mind you that even though Richard is a very good actor he is not necessarily
my favorite actor. He is instead someone I enjoy keeping tabs on, WAITING,
for the moment to see that one role that'll send him into the stratosphere of
my good graces as one of my favorite actors. He is a "Carpenticized" choice
if I ever saw one.
So do you think Richard E. Grant is a good choice? Do you agree or disagree with me? Let me know what you think. If you want to see a particular person appear in a John Carpenter film let me know who it is and I'll start up another page dedicated to actors that viewers of this site want to see in a JC film.
