Locating Doctors -

Here are some sites with information on locating and researching Doctors:

The first site is The American Medical Association. At the AMA site scroll down and click "Search by name or medical specialty". Next click "accept" on the following page and then click whether you want to look by name or specialty. If you search by specialty, you can then fill in what city and state. After finding a name, click the name for more information about the doctor. It tells you whether board cerification confirmed.

AIM DocFinder - The Administrators in Medicine and Association of State Medical Board Executive Directors are providing a health professional licensing database.

ABMS Certified Doctor Home Page - The ABMS (American Board of Medical Specialties) "Public Education Program has developed the CertifiedDoctor web site to provide the public with two distinct and unique services: a Verification Service and a Search Service."

Another site, which charges $14.75, is Medi-Net. According to Medi-Net they are "one-of-a-kind information delivery service that provides background information on every physician licensed to practice medicine in the United States." They also include "records of sanctions or disciplinary actions taken against a physician, if any, from all states."

Rheumatoid Arthritis Information -

There is a mailing list about Rheumatoid Arthritis that is "Focused on Outcome Measures in Rheumatoid Arthritis Clinical Trials". To subscribe send email to:

Diabetes Information -

There are two diabetes mailing lists, the first one is maintained by Dr. Arturo Rolla, an endocrinologist in Boston, Mass. He regularly answers questions that are posted to the list.
