Dad's Dream...

I had the car but no ca$h. This was actually Tammie's car when we got married. It was an old 72 Camaro. That's my dad Bob with the car. Back then it had a 307 small block, a manual three speed, and 3.08 gears. The car ran a respectable 15 (when well waxed).

Shorlty after the first few races, modifications began on the car. It started with a mild 396 big block, a TH350 transmission, and a pair of slicks. That brought the car down to the mid 13's.

About a year or so later, the car still had the 396, but was running a Ford 9 inch rear-end with 5.13 gears, a TH400 transmission with a 4,000 rpm stall converter, and hooked up great (I'm having fun now!!). It ran a best of 12.67 seconds.
Not bad for a full steel bodied/full interior car.

After the 72 I started running a 68 Camaro, that is now on it's way up. I ran the car last year in between points events with a best of 12.14 seconds. It was using the running gear from the 72, with the addition of a roll bar and subframe connectors. The engine was a 355 small block.

I recently put a fresh motor in the car. It's running a solid cam with .580 lift, 12.5:1 domed pistons, Dart heads, and a 5,500 stall converter. We're expecting to get mid to low 11's with this set-up. So far, only 8 test runs have been made, no full passes. Will update with ET's later.

In late 1996 I started running my mom's car because mine was down, due to mechanical failure of some very expensive parts. She has a 79 Chevette that is tubbed with a Dana 60 rear-end, 350 small block, a TH350 transmission and a roll bar. The car runs super consistant and is fun to drive. It's best run was 13.18 seconds.

In 1997 and 1998 driving the Chevette, I won back-to-back street championships in the E.T. series at our track. I'm not looking for a three-peat. I'm going to get into my 68 Camaro this year and let my mom have her car back.
THANKS MOM!!
