MY
FUGUE
PROJECTS

I joined FUGUE in April, 2000, just in time for Project Seven. That's why the earlier projects aren't here.

Project Seven - The April Project:
The tapestry of life. Who and what is vital to your existence? What are you thankful for? What would you tell them if you could, if they were near, if you had the courage?
Who couldn't you live without?

Project Eight - The June Project:
How do your dreams shape your reality? Ever had a dream so real you weren't sure if it really happened? Ever had a dream you just couldn't shake - either because it touched you on some level or it came back to revisit?
Dream a little.

Project Nine - The July Project:
What's the bravest thing you've ever done? Have you told someone the truth in spite of the consequences? Have you taken the plunge and followed through with something that terrified you? Have you ever veered from the pack and taken the path less followed? Or have you been brave in a more conventional sense - ala saving kittens from a burning tree?
Fortune favours the brave.

Project Ten - The August Project:
Revitalise
The year is three quarters gone. Have you realised any New Years Resolutions? Was there something you meant to have done this year? What would you do if you only had until the end of 2000 to set your world straight? Has something you planned and hoped for come to pass, or will it come to pass in the coming months?
Evaluate your dreams, dust off that to-do list and have a long hard think. After all, the clock IS ticking ...

Project Eleven - The September Project:
Secrets & Lies
What are some of the things you would not share with anyone, no matter what?
Have you ever trusted someone with your secret only to be betrayed?
Have you lied to cover your secret or simply because the truth was too much?

Project Twelve - The October Project:
If you could be anywhere in the world, in this era, or one past or future, where would you be? Would you be yourself? Would you be a world leader in 2076? A peasant in the middle ages? A movie star in the 50's? Or perhaps you would like to be your favourite celebrity for the day.
Who What When Where and Why
How? Immaterial!

Project Thirteen - The December Project:
Most of us can't think of the month of December without also thinking of the holidays.
It's that time of year again.
What's your favourite holiday, Christmas, New Years or any other during the year? Do you adore the Christmas season with frantic shopping and tree decorating? Do you hate the season and wish it could be stripped from the calendar? What do you like to do to celebrate? What are your memories of seasons past?
It's all about holidays!

Project Fourteen - The January Project:
Freewrite (choose one or more of the following words and go with it): one, new, begin.

Project Fifteen - The February Project:
Do you sleep to dream? Do you dream of sleep? Are your dreams of the future? Have past dreams and fantasies ever come true? Are your dreams in shades of colour or brilliant splashes?
It's all about dreams.
Your daydreams, your nightdreams, your visions of the future, your window into your owm mind, your unconscious self.

Project Sixteen - The April Project:
Your Sensual Side
Whether we like it or not, human beings care about physical appearance. No matter how we might deny it, we care about the reflection staring back at us in the mirror and are affected if that reflection changes. And more often than not, our reactions to those reflections are negative and critical: I need to lose weight, I'm too short, my nose is too big, I hate my hair.
It's time to change that. Describe yourself as the hero or heroine of a romance novel. Don't concentrate on the negative aspects or "cheat" by changing your physical appearance. Instead, focus on the assets you do have, and on what makes you sexy, unique, and loveable.

Project Seventeen - The July Project:
Truth. Beauty. Freedom. Love.
The above mantra may come from the film Moulin Rouge but it can equally be applied to the internet. Have you ever lied to someone about yourself whilst in a chatroom? Have you experienced someone lying to you? Do you adore travelling random links, discovering artwork and wonderful designs? Do you love being able to express yourself for all (or no one) to see? Have you found love on the internet? Have you found friendships?
What is the internet to you?

Project Eighteen - The August Project:
Freewrite - William Blake
To see a World in a Grain of Sand
And a Heaven in a Wild Flower,
Hold Infinity in the palm of your hand
And Eternity in an hour.
- - Blake Auguries of Innocence
What does this poem say to you? How does it make you feel? What does it remind you of? Like me, do you simply have to hear the word "poem" to be transported back in your mind's eye to English class at school? Do you have more pleasant associations? Run with it.

Project Nineteen - The October Project:
It's not whether you win or lose, it's how you play the game.
What are the rules in your game, and what is the purpose in following them? What happens if someone breaks those rules?
What is your game? (Life? Relationships?)

Project Twenty - The November Project:
Freewrite: The Raven by Edgar Allan Poe.
Deep unto that darkness peering, long I stood there wondering, fearing,
Doubting, dreaming dreams no mortal ever dared to dream before;
But the silence was unbroken, and the darkness gave no token,
And the only word there spoken was the whispered word, "Lenore!"
This I whispered, and an echo murmured back the word, "Lenore!" --
Merely this, and nothing more.
Note: as this project is a freewrite, that means you do not have to create anything to do with the actual poem if you don't wish to, you might prefer to create something about your own experience of noises in the night, or birds, or lost loves or anything else that stems from a reading of the above excerpt or even the full poem.

Project Twenty-one:
In sickness and in health

Project Twenty-two:
Fortune's Fool
That's a quote from Romeo And Juliet. So, you could do something about that play, perhaps the popcorn you spilt in the theater when you saw the movie version. Or maybe a little something about Shakespeare, or perhaps some ideas on fortune tellers and other mystical sources of information. Perhaps you've had some bad luck lately or maybe you hold onto that dream of incredibly good luck one day coming your way.

Project Twenty-three:
The hardest thing in this world is to live in it.

Project Twenty-four:
Distance
- Have you travelled recently or would you like to?
- Do you know someone who stands too close?
- Is there someone or something you are missing?
- Do you have a goal and what might it take to achieve it?

Project Twenty-five:
Frustration, inspiration, motivation.
Are you driven, or do you drive?

And thus FUGUE has come to an end.
