FUNCTIONAL EXPERIENCE

As a Manager of Technology and Special Projects for a System Networking company, I was responsible for the management of the technical support department supporting sales representatives, project supervisors and client installations. I was directly responsible for the pre-sales support of each project. I assisted sales representatives in the configurations, designs, and planning of the projects. This included providing consultation on the type and configuration of servers and PC’s that would be required as well as provided the evaluation of the proper network configuration necessary to provide optimum network utilization. In the after-sales support portion of the project, I was responsible for carrying out the recommended procedures and insuring that all of the technical, budget, and schedule requirements were met. I coordinated the people, materials, installations and configurations.

For the same system networking company, I managed and supervised the implementation of 30-50 Windows NT and Windows 95 PC Workstations as well as the installation and configuration of Windows NT Server 4.0. Also, I supervised the installation of UTP and Fiber Optic cabling for more than 300 nodes.

For the same System Networking company I installed servers, PC’s, LAN and WAN networking equipment that resulted in the network functioning at it’s optimum capacity. I implemented user profiles in Windows 95 systems to increase security within the network. Installed and configured ETHERNET switches and hubs and WAN routers.

Post-sales and implementation responsibilities included customer support via telephonic interaction, scheduled and unscheduled on site visits for technical problems which would arise. I personally attended to or coordinated the persons who would be attending the customer depending on the specific problem. I also provided consultation on future upgrades and expansions.

For the same company, performed various server installations. I configured the systems as well as participated in the purchasing of network equipment and the cabling. Apart from providing customer support, I also supported the internal network, PC’s, an Servers. The network consisted of 8 PC’s and 2 servers. Basic support included print problem resolutions, lost file issues. Some of the common NT system and network administration tasks that I performed included Domain administration, User and Group, User profiles and policies, Resource Permission, backups, disk Administration, DNS, WINS, DHCP, Fault Tolerance, MAC Connectivity and NetWare Connectivity.
