A smile is an expression
That can tell a thousand tales.
Of concrete moose and pigs with wings
Of puppy dogs and whales.

A smile can say, "I'm happy".
It can also say, "I'm sad".
A smile can make you angry
And a smile can make you glad.

A smile can say, "I love you",
Although this can be confused
With the smile that says, "Let's just be friends"
And leave you feeling bruised.

A smile can tell a thousand tales,
But just one strikes my eye;
Today a smile can say, "Hello"
The next day spell, "Goodbye".
