Self Portrait

Featured exhibition:

We are caretakers.
We are the product of our thinking.
I hope to inspire a thought or feeling.

In doing so I hope to atone for my waste of space.
In doing so I hope to be more of a reflection of my maker.

Artist's Statement
"I draw from mental imagery creating my own style of painting to convey the passion of emotions, dreams and the thought process. I enjoy breaking down the complexities of these subjects into a readable abstraction. My paintings range from a watercolor to a paint sculpture effect with movement, color ‘flips’ and color exaggerations due to the diversity of acrylics. I use various additives, gloss and matters to give texture, contrast, depth, movement and heighten color in the illusion I want to create. I use this diversity, color interactions, and style to give ‘life’ to my work. I wish the viewer to feel drawn to my ‘worlds’. I want the effect of my style to be recognizable without my being trapped by a style or subject matter. For me, a form of immortality is achieved by making my essence tangible with the hope it will be enjoyed and remembered."
