I studied this art from July 92', but have not trained since 1999, due to partly work, but mainly the politics that have come into it, and did not want to be dragged into.
I intend to write about and show some of the thing's I have enjoyed while I have been training and the people I have trained with, not on training itself.
This was taken 1996 at Blitz Martial Arts Magazine award dinner in Melbourne. Sensei Roy won Ninjutsu Instructor of the Year.
This symbol is on the pendent I wear. And here is Sensei Roy's reason's for choosing it.
"Throughout history many cultures have used the symbol of the human hand. Primitive cultures used the hand both as a signature and symbol of man's difference to animals. More developed cultures used the hand as a symbol of life, as well as the giving and taking of life."
"I adopted the GOLDEN HAND several years ago, as a symbol of spiritual journey through the realm of martial arts. For me the 'hand' represented the higher levels of human potential, and gold represented the great value of the journey."
Sensei Wayne Roy
Here is a pix from one training night, taken some time ago, and it just goes to show that you have to remember to duck.
Here are some from two different training trip's to Brisbane, where Sensei Roy is based. These show, we don't just train in the art itself, but try a few other thing's as well.
