Well, I began working on this project early this spring, aming to get ready for some "roading" in the middle of the summer. But things didn't work out exactly as they were planned.
But now, after a few changes in the line-up (in fact, there’s been three of them all ready!..!..), it looks like we’ve finally found the right musicians to fit the band.
The current line-up is:
- Frode Synstelien – vocals, rhythm guitars, keyboard
- Trond ‘Cage’ Fjeld – lead guitars, backing vocals
- Anders Grønvold – drums
- Willy Skjellaug – bass
The whole idea behind the band is to start off doing covers of some of the best, well known, rock music today. Starting back in the seventies up to to present, with songs from bands like REM, Manic Street Preachers, Pink Floyd, Bon Jovi, Kula Shaker, Red Hot Chili Peppers, The Waterboys etc.
We're also planning on writing some own material for this project in the future.
As you all ready know, this band has nothing to do with The Fidra Lighthouse. The Fidra Lighthouse is a thing that stands all for itself, and is a complete different project.
As I mentioned before, the future plans for East End, beside getting out doing gigs, is to write some music for the project, which could be an interesting process. Frode, the singer, and me are planning on working together on this. We’re somehow very different in musical directions, but this might as well be a strength rather than a problem.
I’ll tell you more later...

Ok,
"Porcelain" is soon to be finished, and will
probably see the light by the end of this week.
First of all I'd like to say that this,
untill now, has been a project where everything from
writing all the material, to the recording of
everything on the album, to the producing and at last
mastering has been
done by one man only. It's been recorded at the "bed
& room ministudio", which contains a 4-track
MiniDisc porta-studio and as well as other cheap
equipment.
After all this is a demo, but I've dicided
to release it through the internet. This to give the
people who are interested a taste of what "The Fidra
Lighthouse" will be in the future, when a band
line-up is established, "live-work" gets going and "real" recordings are to be
released.
By the way: The songs from "Dark,
blue streets" which are included on
"Porcelain", are remastered and the sound is
better due to a small investment in the studio.
The album itself contains songs that are written mainly
over the last six months, and includes eight tracks.
Some of them are longer pieces, and there's a couple of
small "dreamscapes" included.
To give you a sense of direction towards
the album..... in four words, it will be something like:
...underground...darkness...acid....exitence....
Or: You can order it and listen to it
yourself...
here.
