Chapter 6

Brian moved closer to Amanda and kissed her.

Nick covered his eyes. “What’s wrong sweetie?” Sahar smiled.

‘My best friend is kissing my best friend. It’s gross,” he informed her.

“Howie, you owe my 5 bucks,” Aj laughed.

“You haven’t given her a chance to deck him,” Howie mumbled knowing full well that he had just lost five dollars.

“She isn’t going to deck him,” Sahar told the boys. “She’s as much in love with him as he is with her.”

“And she told you that?” Nick said still trying to understand what everyone else already seem to- why Brian and Amanda were kissing.

“No,” Sahar replied gently, noticing that Nick was having a hard time with the fact that his two best friends were basically in love with one another. “It’s a girl thing. Girls know who likes who as long as they aren’t involved.”

“Whatever,’ Nick stomped off to his room.

The guys just looked at Nick. They were use to his fits of childishness. Sahar sighed, “excuse me while I go see what’s wrong with my childish boyfriend. And get away from the window and pretend like you are doing something else, other than spying on them,” she ordered. She followed Nick up to his room. She knocked on the door, but didn’t wait for an answer; she just walked in. “What’s wrong with you?”

“Nothing,” he practically whined. He was lying on his bed; Sahar just looked at him with a face that said she wasn’t buying it. “I guess something’s wrong,” he admitted.

“What?” Sahar asked sitting on the bed.

Nick got off and walked towards his window. “That,” he said pointing to Amanda and Brian. “That’s what’s wrong.”

Sahar got off the bed and walked towards Nick. She slipped her arms around his waist and rested her head on his shoulder. “I don’t see anything wrong there. I see two people finally admitting that they having feelings for each either.”

“But they don’t,” Nick replied. He was stuck on thinking that Amanda and Brian have no feelings for each other. “Neither of them have told me about having feelings for each other.”

“That’s not what’s bothering you,” Sahar asked. “Is it?”

“No,” Nick admitted. “If my two best-friends start going out, what about me?”

“My little selfish Nicky,” Sahar laughed sweetly. “I wonder if Amanda felt like that?”

“That’s not what I meant,” Nick replied getting Sahar’s point. Both Nick and Sahar had been Amanda’s best friends before they started going out, and nothing changed between the three of them afterwards. “It’s just that…” Nick trailed off.

“Just what?”

“I don’t know. I just don’t like it.”

What am I going to do with you, Sahar asked herself looking out at the full moon.
